I was told almost 3 weeks ago from someone in Dogs staff at that stage they were very confident they had Paps almost wrapped up. I was surprised as it wasn’t in the media. He told me today he wasn’t AS confident but trust me they’ve gone in heavy.

I personally think it’s a HUGE risk. But FWIW I think he’ll stay at Storm.

NRL 2025: Parramatta Eels set to work with Mitchell Moses to erase contract clauses

Parramatta are set to work with Mitchell Moses to erase certain clauses from his contract, a move which could see the star halfback play out the remainder of his glittering career at the Eels.
In what would be a major coup, Kangaroos and NSW halfback Mitch Moses is poised to play-out the remainder of his glittering career at Parramatta.
This masthead has been told that the Eels are planning to work with Moses on erasing contract clauses which allow him to leave after 2027 and 2028.
The clauses remain in his deal right now but preliminary moves to eradicate them have begun.
Moses signed an extension last May to remain at Parramatta until the end of 2026 — with options in his favour for 2027 and 2028.
Under the current contract structure, Moses could be a free agent after next season.
The 30-year-old is in career-best form with the club desperate for their gun halfback to end his stellar career at the Eels.

If the two parties can agree on the get-out stipulation being struck out then Moses would almost certainly push through and finish at Parramatta.
Some at Parramatta would, ideally, seek to have all such clauses eliminated although club officials were reluctant to discuss any details around a player’s contract.
Players at rival clubs have agreed to take out clauses through financial inducement, meaning their contract would have to be re-registered with the NRL.
Parramatta five-eighth Dylan Brown also has contract clauses.
Brown signed an unusual deal at the end of 2022 which keeps him at Parramatta until 2025 with an option to remain at the club until 2031.

Moses has never been happier with his rugby league and Parramatta is delighted with his form and influence at the club.
There is still a chance Moses may elect to retain the clauses and test his market value in coming years. The two parties have time to reach a united decision, given Moses has a long-term deal.
Other NRL clubs are also looking to remove clauses slipped into contracts by player agents.

New Eels coach Jason Ryles hasn’t appointed his 2025 captain with Moses a leading candidate along with Junior Paulo. There is a leadership vacancy gap given Clint Gutherson has joined St George Illawarra.
Moses’ responsibilities at Parramatta will increase this coming season given Gutherson’s departure.
The incumbent Australian and Blues halfback returned to Parramatta in 2017 and played in the Eels’ 2022 grand final.
He once said: “I’ve been an Eels supporter since I was a kid.”
Moses inspired NSW to an epic State of Origin triumph this year before helping propel Australia to a post-season Pacific Championships final victory.
The Eels face a tough opening game next season via an away game to Melbourne. Parramatta are $4 outsiders with the Storm $1.22 favourites, according to TAB.

Lucky Latu will still be there given that could’ve meant the chop for Sione too. That would’ve been 3 players you lovingly nurtured away from their evil junior clubs to then leave in the space of a year after all the development you instilled in them.
You seem to be a bit of an expert on the Fainu brothers? So you would be aware that Sione has been with the Tigers since he was 19 for 3 years (not 1) and doesnt currently have a contract with the Tigers?

Thoughts on Benji?
My opinion is it will all be about Benji but what would I know. Decent roster. No excuses.
Im not convinced he is the guy. Tigers had a plan, that he would serve a 2 year apprenticeship under Sheens and the morons running the club (that are thankfully no longer there) punted Sheens and dropped benji in with no experience within a year.
Trying to learn on the job. Ive seen some good things but lots worries me about benji coaching. 100% no excuses this year. I think if we have only won 3 of our first 12 he is gone.
The players we have signed are perfect for him. Luai is going to make a massive difference off the field and will help Benji a hell of a lot.

It would be funny if they dropped off a few other targets on the market by putting all there eggs into Paps and missing out.

May was perfect for where there at now.
