I am hearing Opiciac is a lock and Asiata is out... too expensive, and there is a reason we didn't chase hard to keep Davey.

Sounds promising...not that Davey would have cost the earth. However cant blame him if he got a considerable upgrade. He will be 29 next year and he has a great opportunity to make some good coin for a few years before footy is over and back to carpentry

plus those players are cheaper, you don’t want to many but 2-3 as depth players probably isn’t a bad thing especially if you have a few rookies with limited experience (like we do)

Davey was 10th choice edge player at the cowboys ........

Stone / Schneider can still be in the squad......but we still had Davis in the squad this year too, if there is the opportunity to replace Davis with an experienced hooker on a cheap hooker, why not take it.

If Stone / Schneider are going better, BA will pick them. He showed this year he is willing to pick rookies over experienced players if they are better options (Field / Davey / Stefo all picked)

Hell I would be offering both Ferguson and Sivo to the Storm for Addo Carr, a twofer and going hard for Charlie Stains too. That would transform out backline into a speed machine that could put 30+ points on a team in the blink of and eye and would probably solve a lot of our defensive issues along the way too.

Since Fergo and The Fox are such besties, I would get into Fergo to get into the Fox about thinking of coming to Parra. They would both feed off one another and really compete hard to out do each other which would be great for our team. You never know our team being a genuine top 4 team, a stable environment, not in a rebuilding phase and the opportunity to play with his bestie maybe enough to make it happen.

Either way by the end of next year I would assess Fergo's form and either cut him if he has gone to plop, or give him a new 1-2 year contract reflecting his performances. Probably around that 250-300k mark.

If fergo is playing like an old man though I would look to sign someone else of course.

I guess you could sign him on a contract that says he gets a premium if he plays a certain amount at fullback but less if he doesn't, and if that's the case he's free to leave.

I'm not sure they will. They've made a lot of bad signings in recent times and maybe have learnt something from that. Or run out of money because of it. I wouldn't be signing him anyway.

While Fergo has some errors in his game, I reckon Blake / Sivo are bigger problems.

Wouldn’t be surprised if Blake gets moved to the wing next year with Sivo in NSW cup.

The squad is building nicely and I think next year is our peak year

With Davey seemingly leaving to manly we'll need a back-up edge forward. If the tigers don't re-sign him, I wouldn't mind Sam McIntyre. He's got some size, is young and I reckon BA could get him up to a first grade level but it depends how much he wants. We may have to look to the lower grades like we did with Niukore and Davey.

I'd really like us to sign Asiata, him coming off the bench would give us some ball-playing in the middle that we lose when Paulo goes off
