You also have to ask yourself what's really in it for Harper unless he's been guaranteed a starting Centre gig. Unless he's been guaranteed a starting Centre gig, then he's in competition with at least two players with 50 plus NRL games in Blake and Simonsson. Blake over 100. He won't dislodge Penisini. At Manly he is in competition for a Centre gig with only rookies and a fringe NRL player at best in Parker.

Good point. Maybe we just need him for Movember.

The Tigers – hell-bent on landing a marquee playmaker to help guide the club back towards the finals – are prepared to offer Moses a five-year deal valued at around the $1.3 million per season mark.

Parramatta – fresh off riding a September wave all the way into the club’s first grand final appearance in 13 seasons – are remaining slightly more fiscally-responsible with a four-year deal around the $1.1 million mark.

The difference is not $2.1m. Once again these cannibals like to misreport the truth. The difference is $800k over the 4 years. It only becomes $2.1m if we assume that Moses will be medically retired or unwanted by every club in year 5 except the desperate Tigers.
It's Hooper. He's an Olympic class clown.

The ball on Moses seems to really be in Parra's court at the moment, and they could realistically end this immediately. Parra should simply ask Moses what he wants to play for Parra. If they don't want to pay that, then the ball is back in his court to make the decision. Personally I think $1.1m is probably slightly unders given the new salary cap, but it is for 4 years (not sure if it includes this year though). I said he was worth $1.15m, but this was under a cap that is now higher than expected too.

What would other clubs offer him but once he is 34?

I think it would be a lot lower.

He's worth $1.3m at a shit club. Ponga is worth $1.3 at Newcastle, but not at the Roosters.

On top of that, high chance we also chip in a few more dollars on his current contract.
Plus (similar to another club’s contracts), I reckon Tigers offer is hopeful but not tied to salary cap changes, whereas ours probably is.
