Lussick does love having a go close to the line.
Reed loved a good bullet pass to a prop who was 2m away from him close to the line. I don't miss those.

Lussick has never looked like scoring from a barge over since he’s been back, I remember a game against the Donkeys it was that telegraphed I called from 100m away after a skinful.

We signed Pennys hooker Riley Smith. I imagine that (if he is any good) he will be putting pressure from reggies from mid year. After all, Hands is really a utility and Lussick is sold at best.

Anyway we are stuck with both until end 2025, so Smith and young Arthur will have time to learn their craft.

I think my first post for the year but I can't fkn wait for the footy to start now.
I'm very optimistic about our chances. Haven't really been following chat here but did see a great post by @Eelementary which i completely agree with about we shouldn't get analed this year re: suspensions injuries etc.
Our fwd pack is up there with the best if not the best.
If our fwds bring it the backs will finish it.
Moses, Guth, Dyl, Penisini, Sivo all very good when game face is on.
I think Russell will be another big improver and he has bulked up a fair bit and knows how to finish..only iffy spot is Simonsson/Harper...healthy competition...
I'm excited and really think after last year's dissapointment players will want to redeem themselves as well...5 Saturdays from tomorrow and its on like donkey Kong

I've heard there was a bit of friction between Reed and BA.
I also think Reed was slightly overated. Good hooker for sure but if dogs had time again I reckon JMK would of been re signed for half the price.

Reed clashed with Gutho and Moses as well.

There all strong personalities who want full control. Moses and Gutho run the show here weather you like it or not they have the keys to the kingdom.

Reed wanted the power and Gus knew that sold him the dream of captaincy and being the number 1 playmaker from dummy half.

Willie Mason on his podcast said Reed told him BA just wanted the long accurate pass and defence from him.
Reed felt stifled and wanted out. Hodgdson made no sense but Lussick seems very much the BA dummy half.

Lussick does what he is told.

He is also Gutho's brother in law so we are keeping it in the family.

BA and Gutho are as tight as anything it's probably Gutho's greatest strength and flaw depending on what side you are on with BA.

But Gutho being the leader he is has probably helped BA still in job by ensuring the players stay on the same page and ensuring BA has is not losing the room.

At the end of the day the moment the coaches lose the senior players it's game over. The senior players and leadership group basically control the mood and destiny of the coach.

Reg and Gutho weren't sad to see him go.

Well Reed probably ticks a few boxes for them.

Gutho and Reg are the type of players that hate Queenslanders for starters. Yet Freddy never picked him until it was a dead rubber where no one gives a toss. And preffered half of Samoa.

Reed is a cheeky small dummy half who gives lip. Reg seems like the type of bloke that cops no BS from anybody let alone a bloke whose height is at Reg's rib cage.

Gutho just wants to win and any little pest in his way will be swatted away.

Payne Haas and Latrell Mitchell were the 2 players who didn't turn up to the NSW camp this week. No surprise 2 blokes who have let NSW down previously.

Payne Haas especially has done SFA for NSW for 4 years now I am baffled why he is always a walk up start. All padded up stats with stuff all impact and aggression.

I wouldn't pick him anyway Reg, Jurbo and one the one of the saifiti twins showed in game 3 that Payne haas isn't required to win an origin game.
