According to you, Gould paid him $500k. If true, that implies high demand from NRL clubs. Hardly Penrith being the only ones to see something in him. He’s always been a player who runs the ball well. Every club knows it. But his defence is poor. Penrith are best placed to hide him, which is why they signed Blaize Talagi. I’m keen to see if Penrith re-sign Alamoti and stand him and Talagi alongside each other in the defensive line.

So are Momirovski and Staines. Plenty of teams have cheap outside backs. It allows them to spend more on more important positions.

Apparently Alamoti has already re-signed twice in the 12 month since he arrived, so they've upgraded and extended him twice in a season!

If you look/listen to Mark Bouris' interview on his Straight Talk podcast this week with Ivan and Nathan Cleary, it was very clear that the Panthers paid nothing for Alamoti and Ivan was stunned he was unwanted and available. The fact he has re-signed a further two times in 12 months since he arrived would indicate they initially got him for minimum wage.

Its all good we got Morgan Harper for cheap instead so much so we had to drag him off the British Airways plane at Sydney Airport heading to Heathrow.

Basically, if you don't have an existing relationship with a player manager, then your zero chance of that player even being considered by your club without some other relationship with the player existing.
