If you want a good footy side you need 17 guys who are committed.
The Bulldogs had this. Their squad was hardly top 5 on paper but they where all fit and gave 100%. They never gave up and where relentless. Even when down and out they would fight.
While our side has had a soft underbelly for the best part of 20yrs. As soon as thing set tough we give up.

BA disrespected the hooker position for 11yrs. You need a guy who can zip out for a dart and also niggle in defense.
2nd rowers need to be tackle busters. Atleast one of them. Someone who busts the line and is a danger. I don't think we've had this since Manu Mau left. Lane perhaps had that one good year in 2022.
And next wingers who make yards. Start the sets well. Again something we lack.

Our halves and middles are fine. Lomax/Pensini is a good centre combo.

If our starting wingers are Russel and Simmo we are going to get pummeled and behind on every set.

Gutherson played dummy half for 20 minutes until Mahoney came on ffs. Terepo was there to improve the middle defence. In fact it’s when Mahoney came on that we fell apart.

No it’s you merkins rewriting history to attack Gronk because he’s a lefty and a moderator and you don’t like him. He didn’t say Cleary would never be great, he said he didn’t deserve to get picked in Origin because he lacked attacking ability. He was right.

They definitely don’t. Many of your mates are laughing at Penrith for signing Talagi with his weak defence. Unlike Gronk’s call on Cleary’s form at the time, they are assuming Talagi won’t improve. Shall we laugh at these merkins when Talagi ends up a good defender? How good he ends up is meaningless for his form at 19.

Young guns are good for the future but winning now requires current ability. That includes effort players and leaders, two things that Gutherson offers.

The Tigers were full of young guns this year, and in previous years and look how they ended up.

You would think so. There are 26 players signed to the NRL side at the moment so you would guess at the very least three of those spots will be filled before the start of the season - clubs dont have to finalise the 30 until July I believe.

If Gutherson leaves that would open a further spot.
