In all seriousness i think we dodged a bullet with Flanagan going to the dragons and Ryles knocking them back coming here instead.

I was keen on Flanagan a few years ago but was always worried about Kyle being brought along for the ride and while he is better then Jake Arthur. I still think he is an average footballer and its shown wherever he has gone.

Flanagan has done that with Kyle just like BA with Jake.

Flanagan is building a dad's army squad of over 30s thinking its 2016.

It's not going to get them anywhere but a possible short term sugar hit.

Not me, only got back from Surfers late Sunday, been catching up on stuff around the house and garden and watching family play OzTaglast night.

Said it before, there’s a Surfers tax on most things, still was a decent break.

Massive achievement to win the Shark's their first comp. But it was off the back of a drug cheating scandal and while they were cheating the salary cap (even though they claim they were only cheating the years before and after).
Flaunted the rules while he was suspended from coaching and seems to be a very abrasive character. His son isn't a 1st grade level starter and wouldn't get a look in at any other club.

Yep the last thing this club needed after BA/Jake was another round of Father/Son partnership in Shane/Kyle.

Ryles has shown in 3 months he is prepared to make the tough calls letting go of the likes of RCG & Gutho.

Most rookie coaches previously i dont think would have been so brave.

Somewhat, yes.

Personally I won't hold a grudge against the guy, he has done too much good in blue and gold. But there is also a part of me that is disappointed that after he and his mgmt negotiated his last contract so publicly and made it such a long and drawn out process that in the end, he is not even seeing that deal out... It's the nature of the sport these days but for a club captain I think we're entitled to expect a bit better.

As has been mentioned today and previously, we shouldn't be chipping in any $$'s if he's playing for the Dragons next year. It's his decision to leave (again that is motivated by his wont to get a guaranteed salary beyond 2025) - as far as we know Ryles has assured him there is a place for him in 2025 if he sticks around.
