Nope, not at all.

no one can question that he has given his all for this club. Played when 99% of other players would have sat out.

he knows, as do we, that his body is breaking. His value for 26/27 will only further decline in 25, so if he gets a shot at a 26/27 contract on the basis of a release for 25 he should 100% take it.

I think Ryles has got the result he wanted from day dot.

Removed anyone seen close to BA.

Dylan Brown is probably the only one now left. And he still hasn't signed for 2026 as he hasnt activated that PO.

I dont think Gutho was genuinely in his plans once he decided he wanted to go in another direction.

This cooked up plan about a Utility & removing the captaincy was a nice way of saying go and get yourself a super & retirement package somewhere else.

I suppose we pushed him out the door more then he probably wanted to go.

I think Gutho should be looked upon as a Parra great, even if he is a Dragon in '25.

However, as someone pointed out, his contract negotiations haven't put him or the club in a good light.

I don't think Paulo was seen as close to BA as RCG, Gutho & Dylan.

Yes he has the captaincy but i don't think he was seen as that clique.

RCG quoted that he would die for BA after the Darwin disgrace was probably the death knell for him staying whoever was coming in next.

That's probably why we signed Volkman - if Dylan leaves, we have a young, but raw, 5/8, ready to step up, and take his spot.

I have been quite impressed with Ryles' work so far - he's done a very good job of attracting young players here.

That was years ago, before his body was broken. He’d get exposed like a chicken from the geographic region close to the west of Spain if he got picked there now.

I don’t think he’s as broken as merkins claim. He might be past it as a fullback, and as a centre, but defending in the halves is more about decision making. Most teams put their worst defenders three in from the sideline. In attack, Gutherson wouldn’t have to change a thing to play in the halves.
