How big is Hands? Could he do a job as a middle forward and increase his versatility that way? Thinking along the lines of Cameron McInnes or the merkin from the Titans

Hands is a good younger player developing nicely.

38 games in give the kid a break some of the critisicm has been way over the top really.

He did a solid job on the run as a rookie being parachuted in to replace a medically retired hodgson.

And then our performances got worse under Joey Lussick then got flicked off into the halves in reggies for Matt Arthur.
Such a complete debacle to have son and bro in law of the captain in the side..granted the coach didnt play his son but he parachuted the other so...to 5/8 so our best 5/8 could play centre...my goodness..can't believe anyone couldn't see this..Oh wait

Nah the other one with a girl name. Erin Clark is who I think I’m thinking of.
That girly named mofo is considerably larger than Hands

I dont know if McInnes is the best middle forward either

its handy to have a robust if somewhat undersized middle who can hold their own, but i think Hands is a bit small for that on any regular basis.

Hands is right up against it trying to convince a few rusted on disciple's of the former coach who are pissed that Booooooooods left the club in the aftermath of said former coach getting kicked to the curb... Hopefully JR is a touch more pragmatic/realistic....
If he convinces Ryles he’ll convince me

💯 agree. He definitely showed more attacking intent and more confident to play what's in front of him.
Definitely played better when he was in the side.
14 would be perfect as he can fill in almost anywhere.
I have no issue if he starts at 9 either and Riley Smith deputises for him.
I however do expect Brailey will be our 9
Smith is 21 and barely played reserve grade

He is 25 ffs

Hands is a utility while Arthur is a specialist dummy half. In reserve grade they literally just stick merkins wherever they fit. If Brad Arthur was favouring his son over Hands he would’ve picked him in the NRL side, not reserve grade.

Like how Matt Arthur kept Brendan Hands out of the NRL side?

Are you being deliberately obtuse?
Let's take his post at face value and ask the question.

Based on past evidence, what might we have expected to see in 2025?
Or
Baaed on the available evidence, would you gave been shocked to see what I am clearly inferring might have happened?

He might not be crazy, because I think I know how I would answer....

He’s definitely infront of Paix. Smoothy too. He’s been touted as Qld’s future 9 up here. He’d be a HUGE get for us. I hope we’ve at least asked the question cos I’d rather him than Brailey by a country mile.
Mozer does seem to have much higher potential than Brailey and would probably cost more due to demand. Meanwhile he still might not be as good as Brailey (when fit) in 2025 at least, due to lack of experience and physical maturity. But he is 21 next year so if his ceiling is Origin class or better, he should at least be top 17 in 2025. He might be Brisbane’s first choice dummy half already.

I can’t see us considering Vaughn but as someone said, maybe it’s a Moa pick for experience/ culture if it is true? Who would we argue is our enforcer in the middle now? Assume we might be one prop short for season 25?

Who knows but it’s just a random article in a UK site, hardly much commentary about it locally.
Maybe they’re looking at Vaughan as an experienced backup? Merkins put shit on our club for having backups over the age of 21 but history shows young forwards tend to struggle with the physical side of the game. Front rowers mature later than other positions.

I’ve told you before. Dylan Brown played centre because we only had three outside backs available. The following merkins were all unavailable:

Blake
Niukore
Opacic
Sivo
Russell

We were so undermanned we also played Hayze Perham on the wing.
