Happy to admit that I believed the bullshit rumours that our four reps were gone!

good to see the club keeping a young hooker, prop and half - all difficult to get in the modern game, so keeping them a couple of years means we may get something in those positions.

Yes, they have looked into it. For example,

CTE is one type of Traumatic Brain Injury.
Nope, that's a different issue. That study looks into post Brain Injury consumption of alcohol. Eg a person has a brain injury so they are more likely to consume larger amounts. "This study examined patterns of alcohol use among 170 adults with a history of complicated mild to severe TBI."

Ram is talking about the effect of immediate consumption of alcohol on brains that have experienced a concussion and how that would affect the healing, such as in the case of a footballer who goes out on the booze after a game.

Not a tort lawyer - but if I was crafting a response to this issue I would steal yours as it’s spot on to my understanding.

This is about being seen to take measures to alleviate or address risk so that those measures can be referred to in any future proceeding, such that they won’t undermine or counter the players own voluntary assumption of risk.
What's are your thoughts on this potential rule change though LE.

I assume going off what you have said here it may be as much about about protecting the NRL from potential civil-suits as it is the players from potential injury.

I’m sure all the neurosurgeons and sports scientists have not thought about or looked into any of this.

Thank god you’re around Ram. We always need someone to tell the experts they’re doing it wrong.

Mate it's not a matter off not having thought about it, but I suspect you already know that.

Think about it if you genuinely don't know why and you might work it out?

f**king weird to announce signings outside the full time squad. This is a response to the people still trying to destabilise the club. We are f**king riddled with them.

I actually think its an exercise in risk management and I understand they have to be seen to be recognising the risk and attempting to alleviate it.

But to be honest, as a football fan, I hate the rule change.

A concussion is a mild traumatic brain injury.......

But there are several other studies examining variations on the theme, e.g.

Studying the very long-term effects is complicated by the difficulty in assembling a sample able to be consistently observed over a long time.
