I think the DragQueens have been poor for a long time now, and that loser culture has been embedded in. They needed personnel change and bought in some senior players who are used to winning.

We on the other hand only had losing seasons because we let a number of players leave at the end of 2022 and didn't replace them with the same level of player, and injuries and suspensions in 2023 meant that we had non- NRL quality players playing far too many games. Last season that was exacerbated by the injuries to Moses.

We still had a strong used to winning culture, which shouldn't change next season without Gutho.

We’ve just had our first season in six years where we lost more games than we’ve won.

Yep, the first episode was not great (terrible I thought) but it got a lot better once it hit its stride.

I do recall after that game some moron said Moretti should have played instead of Momoisea. I guess we will never know if it would made a difference in the game or not.

At that point of his career, Moretti hadn’t even proven himself in reserve grade.

More than happy to be opening the season in Melbourne.

It’s the toughest road trip in the game, so I’d rather get it done with early when the storm won’t have fully hit their stride, and it’s a good litmus test for whatever defensive systems we’ve started to implement in the off season. Bookies and punters won’t give us a shot (which is fair) so there is no real pressure.
