Stats are useful but you have to know how to interpret them. This is where I get my point of view from ffs. The stats+interpretation come first. The opinions follow from there.

Anyway Talakai is the strongest centre in the game. Penisini might be second.
So how many more times do those other centres beat their man on the outside compared to Penisini who apparently does it the hard way?

I took interest in Brandon Smith’s comments on his podcast with James Graham today. I’m not a fan of the cheese but there is definitely no filter on him.

He was asked specifically what Ryles is like as a coach, and he said a few things.

He stated Ryles was always well loved by the playing group, but that Ryles had the ability to “snap if you were not putting in properly and trust me, Ryles is f**king scary if you are not putting in”. But genuinely said he think Parra are a club who have never had a defensive mindset which is what Bellamy coached upon.

He did go to great lengths to say Ryles was the sole planner and organiser of the Storm defence structures and that the structures he put in place are still being used at the Roosters! He said whatever happens, he’s tipping them to be a great defensive side which he said he believed was all Parra ever needed, a steely edge.

It was hard to listen after that due to my erection but music to many’s ears I’m sure:
Definitely a bit of mayo added to what I heard but hey why not.

He beats his man on the outside too. Last year the only centres who made more line breaks than him were Farnworth and Graham. This year with Moses missing we didn't attack as much down our right hand side and most of Penisini's carries seemed to be hit ups. Either that or he's past it at 22. You can decide for yourself which you think it is.

VOLKMAN CLOSE TO NEW CLUB
Ronald Volkman is expected to make a call on his future on Friday after holding a second round of meetings with Parramatta over the prospect of joining the Jason Ryles revolution.
Volkman, hoping to revive his career after an injury saga stymied a proposed move to St George Illawarra almost a year ago, has also spoken to Cronulla over a potential move to the Sharks.
It is understood the Sharks haven’t progressed talks, leaving Parramatta with a free run at the young playmaker.
Manly were also in the mix for his services but it is believed they have now dropped out of the race.
Sport Con understands that Volkman’s manager Mario Tartak spoke to the Eels earlier this week and a decision on his future is imminent.

Looks like Parra are going to win another "bidding war"
