Reading back a few pages on this thread and talk about the size of the pack... You older guys remember when smith went out and bought Craig Stapleton and Corey Pearson cause he needed a bit more size in our forwards? That didn't end well
Looking back at matches in Smith era gee the side played attractive football. He had the Penrith formula before they had. Small mobile forwards with skill and quick backs. Pity he lacked the coaching instinct to put a few players in with mongrel (like Price) to win a premiership. So do we have one or more in our team atm?

We had Nathan Brown but he was frozen out of the joint.

Hopgood would be the only senior player i could possibly see the rest are set in there own ways.

Lane & Matterson have a certain edge to them that is opposite to mongrel
Paulo is worried about his ball-playing skills.
Joffa is a workhorse

Luca Moretti has potential takes no prisoners attitude. Needs to get fitter to play longer minutes and be trusted.

Maybe Charlie Guymer as well but too small sample size to judge.

@Legal Eel would Ezra Mam cop the same punishment from the courts in NSW.

It seems on the surface pretty soft considering he damaged 2 x cars and injured multiple people in another vehicle.

Sounds like he got hit with a wet lettuce from the Judge

Ezra Mam was handed an $850 fine and his license was disqualified for at least six months.

Well said community is a big one.

I think for the first time in a long time 95% of Parra fans in the area are finally united and happy with the direction we are heading. We are moving forward in a positive way.

There may be a few bumps down the road with some results but there is light at the end of the tunnel and once 2025 hits the spark and crackle of a new season will get the juices flowing again where everyone can dare to dream again.

12 weeks today to round 1 against the Storm.

Bring it on.
I like what Ryles has brought to the club so far.
Don’t mean to put a downer on it but as far as happiness of fans in respect of direction etc, we haven’t lost a game yet. A poor start to the season will test the vibes, should it happen.

I don’t feel we really ever had that , even RCG and Paulo at their best I think their impact overstated , it was during the time fergo and the backs would be giving us a roll on from our own end and they would make a run at the end of the tackle count. Whenever they had to run it off the line they didn’t do much and we always relied upon Mitch’s big boot to get us out of trouble . I feel that’s why the riff where able to smash us in the grand final

Do you really think our current front row rotation is anywhere near the Panthers 2024 rotation and then add in their back 3 support staff?

It all matters. Look at the Storm in the GF this year. They got smashed and dominated up front and in the middle because the Panthers were way superior up front and their back three have a lot to do with that. But their front row rotation is exceptional and takes great advantage of that.

If we could have kept RCG and improved our wingers like we have, our team would have really been given a new least of life. As it stands right now, we are a quality Front rower short and it will show in the end. Especially against the better teams.

I said it a couple of times a few pages back. The jails are full, people who are breaking into houses are avoided jail. Mam was always getting SFA for it.

He will however get sued civilly and as has been proven to be under the influence his insurance company won’t cover him. That’s going to cost him plenty.

Be interesting to see what the NRL give him.

It seems very light, but you don't know what submissions were put in relation to circumstances, history etc.

Still seems a bit light though

Because our back 3 were shit and we were and still are a QUALITY front rower short.

Our back three on that day were quite good, as good as Penrith? No but that's life.

I think for middle forwards we are well served atm but I rate Paulo and matto higher than a lot of people around here.

I think our way off winning it all is going to be pairing moses' elite long kicking game with an elite kick chase. That means guys like hopgood, Williams, Cartwright, morretti, guymer etc getting down there with our backs, covering ground quickly, defending with line speed and decipline when we pin the opposition inside their own ten.

This big guys running over the top of people I feel while still effective, isn't where the game is at the moment. You see in the grand final cleary and luai ran for more metres than fish and leota. I don't want to copy everything Penrith do but they are the standard. The fatigue and speed in the game at the moment is ripe for players like Brown and iongi to do some grunt work with speed and footwork as apposed to RCG off the back fence.
