We play out of one of the best stadium’s in the country with one of the best corporate game day experiences in the country. Who wants to own a stadium anyway let the government shell out the money for that.
Any club is free to play out of the new Cumberland Oval. The Tigers and Panthers are both running home games there this year. How long until the Bulldogs are playing there too?
And you we saying we weren’t well run around 05??
We were run well enough, just like we are now.
We were the envy of the comp with our production line of talent.
That's one thing we did well. But like the Tigers five years later (Papenhuyzen, Addo-Carr, Fifita, Tedesco, Korobeite), we couldn't translate that production line to keeping a squad full of Origin players together for half a decade. That takes a whole new level of resourcing, like the Storm, Roosters and Panthers have.
Time for another holiday, have a good break I suggest a couple of years and maybe a trip to Leeds???
I'm in NZ, cheers.

Plus we didn’t sack Smith in 06 he walked we didn’t renew his contract,
lol
Hagan was preferred in 07 which you argued wasn’t a bad call now @Poupou Escobar wants to argue it was the sign of a poorly run club.

Keep walking both sides of that street in Leeds champion.
No I'm arguing it's not the sign of the best run club. Not even one of the best, which was your claim.

13 mins 50 onwards

Well run club, lots of those Smith systems now at panthers
The Smith systems also worked at the Roosters. What's the difference between the Panthers/Chooks and the Eels when Smith was here? I'll give you a hint:

What do you think are the benefits of being a one team town, and how does it apply to a club that has eight other clubs within driving distance?
Here's an example of the 'benefit' of our location in the middle of Sydney. Gutherson drove to Eels training every day from another club's territory, yet has now moved his family to Wollongong. The implication of this is that any player contracted to our club (including local juniors) has seven other NRL clubs within driving distance of his home. Yes it increases the pool of players able to sign without relocating, but it means there are zero retention advantages due to all the competition from other Sydney clubs.

Don't forget coaches Hagen drove from Newcastle to Parra daily to coach!

Wonder if Lomax and Ryles carpool from the Gong to get to Kellyville...

Pretty sure him being shit at his job was the main contributor.
He won more than half his games, including at Parramatta. He also won a premiership ffs, something most coaches never achieve. Yes he had great players but so does every premiership winning coach. Even Warren Ryan won nothing with Andrew Johns in his team, and if you love small sample sizes, Ryan's finals record at Newcastle was only 33%

You claiming Hagan was 'shit at his job' is laughable. At worst he was average, which made him a good choice for our club. Better coaches won't come here. They don't need the hassle of David Jones expectations on a Best & Less budget.

He was a fantastic choice, according to Pou until it doesn’t suit his narrative and then his signing was shit and the sign of an average run club. So exhausting keeping up with his BS while he Glugs BA.
Exhausting when you see everything as either shit or the best, with nothing in between. No wonder you're so confused. You are a simpleton.

Still a shit coach. Not sure anyone apart from the CEO wanted Hagan as our coach.

Ricky Stuart is also a shit coach with connections.

Leo Thompson going to the Dogs. That’s a great signing. How do they keep coming up with the casssshhhh?
True, but plenty of players must have shares in pubs and I get a feeling NRL don't count that on the salary cap. Also suspicious is Storm. How do they keep , say, Pezet and Faalongo even Paps, on long term deals when others are offering much more??? Very suspicious if ask me.

Interesting Paps contract ends when Teddy retires.

He was a shit choice as he didn't have a player like Joey running things.

BA could have built himself a legacy if he worked with the Football department and wasn't trying to protect "his" favorites.
