If we get into the Finals and close to a top 4 spot this year it will prove nothing. BA has done it more than once, so what did that prove.

If we do it consistently over the next decade then that may prove something, but then again Ryles may be working with more than BA had to work with.

Great post. I’ve said before we are on the up, and the extra investment in pathways staff is proof of that. The CoE is a huge asset. To think we used to work out of demountables, and before that on an undersized field at Richie Benaud Oval. Maybe we finally are the massive club we’ve been pretending to be. Bringing in a more media savvy coach is a good way to announce ourselves.

Actually will mean the club made the right decision

We already know it’s the right decision because it’s the club’s decision to make.

If we don’t get good results within two or three years we have bigger problems than the head coach.

I think BA overall did a good job , was an apart of a set that did give us long term stability and a few good years …. But tbh if we kept him … I had zero hope for top 8 in 2025

We might’ve come back quickly from this season’s disaster. We did it before under Brad Arthur. But the board decided it was a good opportunity to replace him and go in a new direction. It’s very exciting.

That’s right poor Bea was hamstrung with Terrible rosters the whole time here he was here. Everyone was against him especially all us dopey fans. I mean yaar 12 was probably the year he took us to the promised land and the evil board took away that chance. Poor Brad.

Their skill set was perfectly fine and definitely good enough to be in any team’s junior system.

The Arthur boys were absolute myths supported by the hype machine of the rugby league media and social media.

Once some fans with web and social media presence (like TCT) start relentlessly hyping them (in Matt's case it was borderline uncomfortable), other fans start joining the hype train and that leads to media outlets consistently referring to them as the "next big thing"....without ever really looking at their individual abilities.

This is how they get picked....and it all starts with a certain fanbase talking up BA's kids to ingratiate themselves for "access", particularly so with a coach who denied access to many other fans and media as part of an us against them mentality.

lol nah he had the best roster 11 years in a row and is the only coach who didn’t win the comp in that time. f**king disgraceful effort. We went from a club that won the comp every year to one that constantly ran last ffs!!!
