I'm saying that Panthers reign will stop, the loss of Luai and more importantly JFH will mean they finish outside top 4 and not feature in final match.

Also saying Eels will finish in top 8 but not sure about Tigers - reckon 9th their usual spot.

I also think Penrith will drop off. Storm are unbeatable unless injuries. They have close to 2 million worth of talent as back ups tho so it will take a lot of injuries.

I also like Brisbane. On paper it's a gun side.

He is certainly behind in his milestones.

Merkins are raving about his speed, as though that’s the defining feature of modern dummy halves. But they fail to note that Smith wasn’t retained by Penrith in favour of plodder Kenny, who is also slower than Brendan Hands, another hooker they let go.

Modern hookers are about decision making and defence, with running game a bonus for the players who have the first two things squared away. Smith is at least very fit, which is good for his work rate. His speed would come in handy for leading the line, unless he lacks the strength to be effective in initial contact. Then he would just be a speed bump.

I hope so too, for our sake. Lussick and Hands are very ordinary.

Add it to the list of the 4 peat bums.

MITCH KENNY another plodder. Joins Leota,JFH,Martin,Edwards

You mention Hooker is about defense later in your statement. Thats Kennys best attribute. He hits like a f**king hammer. Liam Martin style.
Do you only watch attack?

Arthur’s win rate since 2019 has been very good. His win rate before then was quite poor. It’s like he coached two different clubs. What changed around 2019?

#resources

Yet his points differential never hit top 4. That's a better judgement as you have taught me and I also agree nowdays. I never used to. Thanks for educating me.
Is this still the case or have the rules changed again and ladder position is a better gauge?

So where did you come up with the idea that the Warriors are better resourced than us?
Not sure Pou believes some of the statements he makes, it’s always about some circular logic that enables him to comment and argue about incessantly. To be honest, he’s becoming boring when before he made some sense.

Commbank Stadium was a big game changer in 2019.

The passionate blue and gold fans who turned up every week helped create an atmosphere that spurred the players on and turned into a fortress.
It's definitely a resource, and one that we benefit from without owning it. But other clubs are free to play there.

They are all one dimensional players but they work well together, as I said. Synergies. The ones that are best at their position are Cleary and Yeo, not any of the others.

This is my implied point about why they kept him instead of better running dummy halves. Kenny no doubt is a better decision maker than many hookers as well.

I've also said the players are more important than the coach, so the points differential reflects on the squad. Look at Cleary's last four years with Penrith compared to his first 14 years. He wasn't a great coach before but he suddenly is? Or does he just have a great squad?

As for Parra, have we really had a top four squad any time Arthur was here? What do you base it on? Certainly not points differential. Origin selections don't paint our squad in a very good light. I recently showed you we haven't had as many Origin players as the likes of Penrith and the Storm since 1984.

If Arthur had done more in finals then we would have had more players in the origin teams. It’s a what came first out of the chicken and the egg scenario.

Have we ever had a squad the reflects a spoon? BA collected 2.
Only Barretts saved us from it this year.

I like reading TCT training reports but it’d be interesting to hear what they might say after going to training held by other teams, purely for compare/contrast.
Zoso this is actually a very good comment and good question. I’d actually love them to try it and comment!

To be fair maybe they just generally are amazed at how impressive modern athletes are. If they came to my work they’d probably marvel at the “efficiency” in which I delegate seemingly very senior duties to members of my team under the guise of “empowerment”!
