If you didn’t look at stats how did you compare their respective teams?
I don't. I just want to enjoy the game and think we can beat anyone on the day regardless of the stat's.....that's the fun in watching sport. If I went off stat's then I wouldn't bother watching a game as the stats show we have no hope of winning a premiership this season....but upsets and miracles do happen.

I think our chances are very very low but better than zero. Next year we could be a legit chance.

Well that explains why not every player is willing to accept a PO in lieu of whatever it would cost them.
Why wouldn't every agent just make their high-end talent sign for say 3 years and then demand a PO for another 2 years as insurance? Why wouldn't every player accept that? It wouldn't cost them anything...they were only ever planning to sign for 3 years anyway.

In a lot of junior sports sometimes its not how good you are but who you know can lead to how far you can get in reps leading into Professional career.
💯...seen it far too many times.
If you have family in influential positions or if they can tip some $$$ into the club all of a sudden the pathways for their child, niece, nephew changes significantly...that's life.
The real elite will always rise to the top but that next level isn't exactly a level playing field

Because the club would want a discount in return for the two year PO. They're not giving it away for free.

This is absolute truth.

I know Pou likes to mock anyone who has been involved with junior footy, but I have been around the pathways programs long enough to know that if there are two juniors of roughly comparable talent, the one with "connections" will be afforded a rails run and will reap the benefits of being in specialised programs to the point where they will overtake the other player.

Sometimes this is remedied at a later date by the disparity in talent between them, but often it sees the other player drop behind where they could have otherwise been and they don't come back.

In saying that, this is how most sports (and sometimes other institutions) work and its just human nature....but to pretend it doesn't happen is just the trolling we have come to expect.
