If they didn’t want to win the comp, we wouldn’t have made GF. But having gone through the wringer to get there, I think quite possibly the overall squad were unwilling/unable to do that and more again. Poor squad decisions and ill-timed injuries only compounded it.

Anyway my thoughts on Moretti has always been he’s fine, probably play half season off bench but I think he’s unsettled on what style he wants to be. Does he want to be a Liam Martin style backrower or a Watmough style combo forward? Until he decides I don’t think he’ll be more than 16th-20th level player

I’d call it subconscious levels of how much people want to win. They all “want” to win, but for whatever reason every player will put in different efforts to do that, and it isn’t always a conscious effort to try harder than someone else.

I think you're kidding yourself that we got a discount on Moses for 3 years because we gave home a PO for the following 2 years.

You're kidding yourself if you think clubs give it away for free. You might as well claim they give players however much cash they ask for. It's the same thing.

If clubs gave player options away for nothing, every player would have them.

The reality is that Club will need $1.5m a season to remove the PO now.

It's possible, meaning the PO saved us the difference since he re-signed in 2022.
