The Tigers have also recruited well. That's what you should expect from a team that challenged for the spoon. It's not like the club has suddenly decided to recruit well instead of poorly. We cleared a f**kload of cap space by arseholing three senior members of the team.
Regardless the recruitment this year is vastly different from previous years where their was an emphasis on getting journeymen and perennial reserve graders...anyways positive signs for the mighty Eels.
Yes Tigers have also recruited well.
I'd like to see us make the 8 and them avoid the spoon.

They can have the spoon again only if Manly, Dogs, Scum or Smugs decline it.

Why isn't what they did with Papa? How do you know Alomotti was in top 17 pay?
Well we don't, but why do you think they let him go? He played 19 NRL games for them before his 20th birthday. It's not like they didn't rate him or recognise his potential. He was probably the top rated teenage centre in the NRL. He is two years younger than Ethyn Martin ffs

So JAC is listed as 181cm.
Therefore Paps would not be 15cm shorter.
He would be about 175cm. Tall and good enough.
Saw him play quite a few games in reserves and was pretty impressive.
The good news is the recruitment for the first time in a long while does not include a has been or a never was. They are either top quality first graders Lomax, JAC and Williams and then the likes of Ionghi, Paps Samrani plus the elevation of a good crop of youngsters...I'm pretty excited for the upcoming season
Nah mate, the internet can’t be wrong, the club f*cked up by signing a midget without even looking at him. They’ve tried to cover it up by getting him to stand on a stool for the photo.

Peninisi is a very good player who lost his way in D last year. Hopefully our new improved systems will correct that this year and he thrives in our new setup with faster players around him.

Don't get the hate. He is a centre. I personally feel this is the only position that is dictated solely on the rest of team. Unlike other position where you can still influence the game if your sides playing bad. A centre I mean what can he do?
I think I learnt this in 2022 after David Vaeleki looked like half the player he was the year prior.
Will was terrible in 2024 but so was the whole side. He still broke 79 tackles and was our highest tackle breakers. He ended up 10/ 34 centres in tackle breaks which is very good considering how rubbish we where.
He needs more early ball and a bit of space. One on one he steam rolls guys.

He also needs to cut out some of the basic handling errors that have crept in to his game. One of my spies that was at the open session last week reported he dropped the pill cold on 4 separate occasions.... It's that lack of attention to detail on the basics that have seen the team regress over the last few years...

I'll actually back Pou on this one... I'm excited to have Joash in the squad, he is young and obviously talented, there has been big wraps on him for a couple of years.

But lets be honest the Dogs were willing to let him go and they are only currently running Tracey there, who although is a good footballer you would still say there is questions marks on him playing that position long term for them.

I'm interested to see how he goes but I hope this isn't another example of a TCT overhype.

High chance he fizzles out. But Gould did punt JMK,Avarillo and Alamoti.
Whilst he replaced them all with guys of similar or higher level he also spent a lot more doing so.

The other thing is was he off contract the end of 2025? If so Parras offer may of been more then the Dogs wanted to pay. We don't know the finer details.

He has dicks for hands. Error rate in 2024 almost comparable with Waqa Blake.

Maybe they signed him for the SG Ball team...he would be average to tall there

At best TCT have Paps as a maybe 14. So no hype from them.

When we first signed him did you think he would be in the conversation for top 17 in round 1? I sure didn’t.

I feel the main push for him is coming from TCT. They have commented he is knocking the door down and Ryles might just have to find a spot for him.

This isn’t a knock on them either, I like the TCT lads and appreciate their content. I hope they have this one on the money, i’m just tempering my expectation on him.
