True, but your edge defence is only as good as your middle. Look at the teams with great defensive mobility in the middle. Their edges are almost never outnumbered. Meanwhile no edge defenders were more isolated than ours these last two years. Look at the drop off in tackle effectiveness in Drown and Penisini. It doesn't mean they've become worse, it means they've had to attempt more low percentage tackles.

Not necessarily. Dudes in the dev list can earn more (with incentives) than the players at the bottom of the top 30. But ultimately, everyone outside the top 17 is a backup. The difference is they might play 14 games (Asi) or they might play zero (Cini, Dunster, Mataele, Rodwell). All these guys were in the top 30 last year. Ogden was also top 30 but only played 2 games while Moretti on the dev list played 11. Then a bunch of merkins not even on the development list made NRL appearances:

This isn't true either. Prior to 2019 we worked hard and defended well for the quality of players in the team. After that we blew it up to focus on big forwards because that's what the rules of the game rewarded. Then the game sped up again in 2020 and punished sluggish forwards. Arthur's response was to control possession to minimise the defensive work required of our middles. It worked well in 2020 and 2021, and was good enough to reach the grand final in 2022. It's only these past two years it fell apart. Your bullshit narrative about the "entire tenure" shows you don't watch Eels games.
Apart from voicing his disappointment that his email was leaked, what other carry on has his manager done? He was asked by the club to bring the decision on staying or going forward from round 10. He emailed potentially interested parties to see if there was interest (that is his job) and that email leaked (which it was always going to do).
