I reckon we should retain him at all costs. He’s the future. He is a fullback who defends in the line. A bit niche, but Wighton got a Dally M doing the same thing.
For sure! I would renegotiate a brand new contract at around the $1.2 million mark but also include a player option as well just to remind the league world that we are still one of the smart clubs.I reckon we should retain him at all costs. He’s the future.
Luca ?From what I observed yesterday, it appears at this stage our likely starting 13 is close to locked
Iongi
Russell
Penisini
Lomax

Kelma

Hopgood
Whilst I’d say Joffa probably has one hand on the role, I’d say that is the only spot still up for grabs
think 3 of the bench spots however are up for grabs, with Matto the only lock in
NopeI'm getting bored and desperate for some footy.
Was thinking about a new thread "Favoutite Eels Vids" where we can all post our favourite Eels Youtube vids from years past.
Any interest ?
No. With Gutho gone, we will require some stability for this year; particularly in defence. He can f**k off next year. Also gives us more time to find a suitable replacement. If he signs elsewhere I'm saying we should move him on a year early, and swap for an adequate replacement.
He's not as good as Luai.Maybe he saw Luai sitting on 800k at Penrith. He then signed a 5 year 1.2 million dollar deal. Quite the upgrade.
Who is going to argue incessantly with the refs now???No. With Gutho gone, we will require some stability for this year; particularly in defence. He can f**k off next year. Also gives us more time to find a suitable replacement.

That's just the way he rolls.why would he do that ?
Controlling halves aren't the most valuable players in their teams unless they can also tackle and create line breaks and tries. And when they can (i.e. Nathan Cleary) they would be on more than $1.2M. Munster would probably be on that much, and is he really any better than Dylan Brown? He just plays for a better team. Same as Luai.Yes but what club in their right mind would spend that much on him? That's a controlling half's money not a running 5/8th's money. Might want that but doubt will get that, clubs aren't that stupid.
Moses is worth over $1M. There would be forwards on more than that in 2025.I don’t know the value of players these days but I think if Moses is worth $1m per season then I would have DB at about $650k.
Is he though? He can't get any more than the option is worth or whatever we are willing to offer as an upgrade. He doesn't have a licence to print money. If he takes the option then we keep him, which was the intent when he signed this deal. If he doesn't take the option he gets whatever his best offer is.I mean it more in the sense that given the structure of his contract, he is able to squeeze every last dollar out of the club.
Luai's team keeps the scores close even when they are missing Cleary. Meanwhile our team has usually shipped over 20 points by the time the 70th minute rolls around, so whenever Drown creates a try or line break we are almost certainly more than a converted try behind. Then the narrative is that the defence took it easy rather than Dylan Brown created an opportunity from nothing. He pulled out one when Cleary was injured. The same didn’t happen when Moses was injured and Brown was calling the shots. Franchise player ? No f**king chance. Another overrated peanut.
Nah we should f**k him off because he is garbage. Am I playing this game right?I reckon we should retain him at all costs. He’s the future.
He wants $1.2M because that's what his manager knows he can get in 2026.If Dylan wants 1.25 to walk away from his POs, imagine what Moses is going to want...
Where's the logic in this? If the player options are less than what he can get on the market, then he will go to market, just like any off contract player. If the POs are more than market value then they weren't options in the first place, or his value has declined since signing (e.g. Dunster). There will be a lot more interest in Moses and the POs incentivises him to go to market.
The whingers are out in force, enabled by the rugby league media.Going to be some tough offseasons, buckle in JR
