Agreed, but halves are hard to come by right now. Brown is a pretty good player IMO, but probably not 1.2 million good. He's not as good as Luai.

EDIT - Responded to the wrong message...For sure! I would renegotiate a brand new contract at around the $1.2 million mark but also include a player option as well just to remind the league world that we are still one of the smart clubs.
There's no way Isaac Moses lets him sign his next contract anywhere for less than $1.5m.If Dylan wants 1.25 to walk away from his POs, imagine what Moses is going to want...
There will be a lot more interest in Moses and the POs incentivises him to go to market.
Going to be some tough offseasons, buckle in JR

Leagueunlimited is obsessed with reductio ad absurdum. Its the lowest form of exageduration.Nah we should f**k him off because he is garbage. Am I playing this game right?

That's the case with any off contract player, whether they have an option or not.He can, in the sense that he can tell the club, "Offer me $X, because team Y did, or I'm leaving to join team Y."
Because of the option we can't just tell him to f**k off, but there is no need for us to offer him anything better if we don't think he is worth it. If another club thinks he is then they can pay him that and he can leave. Everybody wins.Options are rather easy to break, if history is any guide.
Agreed. But if he stays it's for an amount we decided he was worth, not what another club thought he was worth. If he leaves, it's for an amount dictated by another club.I like him as a player, but I would like to see the club's culture come first.
If they were so bad, no club would do them.If POs were such a no brainer then every club would do them.
The Ponissi of the south still uses them. How bad can they be?But as it stands, the broncos, bulldogs, sharks, dophins, knights, cowboys, panthers, saints, rabbitohs, Roosters and warriors don't have a player with a PO.
Surely the ponessi of the west isn't that good.....
You love overlooking the obvious. You love stating the obvious
They’re negotiating with players because they’re off contract. Whether they offer more POs depends on whether they need them, and whether players agree to them, same as any other club. The difference is players actually want to be at the storm.
This is a copy cat league, if a club finds a competitive advantage. Other clubs are keen to follow.
No body is copying what parramatta is doing, in fact even parramatta is not offering POs anymore. They're negotiating with players to get those options out of their contracts.
He sleeps with the fishes.Luca ?
If you actually watched the game.I saw the Lindsay Collins catch over Teddy..
That was pretty obvious
