Little birds?
Reckon Drown is as good as gone...
Next five? We will experience this every time we have players off contract, which is forever. You’ve got a short memory if you think this didn’t happen before the media found out about player options. It’s always been a circus, but now the media wants you to blame the club for it.
That’s because you’re looking at it from the perspective of a pissy, vindictive fan who has been shit stirred by the rugby league media. You want him to f**k off. The club doesn’t. That’s why the PO isn’t a problem for the club. They all love him and want him to stay. It’s why they gave him the options in the first place. Or do you still think coaches do all the contract negotiations even after Ryles admitted he has little to do with it?The difference is if wasn't a PO we could right now go ok no offers just f**k off and look elsewhere as of last season.
The circus isn’t having players off contract… it’s having no leverage in the process and an inability to plan. As it stands we don’t know what our roster will look like in 2026 with D Brown , and this time next year we won’t know what it will look like with Moses for 2028. If they both take up their options to stay , as it stands , the merry go round comes around again not long after. We can’t go out and find replacements because they’re under contract. If you don’t think that’s a circus I don’t know what to tell you.Next five? We will experience this every time we have players off contract, which is forever. Then why have they been trying to re-negotiate the Moses and Drown contracts to have the PO's removed??That’s why the PO isn’t a problem for the club.
Look again. Not even close!I just noticed I am the first poster on page 10,000!!!
Your 100% spot on.The circus isn’t having players off contract… it’s having no leverage in the process and an inability to plan. Your 100% spot on.
While Dylan does the world tour we have our hands tied behind our backs waiting on the decision.
We can't commit ourselves to any replacement as technically Dylan could then say no i am staying.
Its utterly a ridiculous situation and the club deserves all the criticism they get for it.
Its shit business and btw did the POs really drive the price down
Can you explain the Blaize thing again ?Yep shit deal once again if we had given him the November deadline like most players have we may have been able to keep Blaize.
Had time to sign someone else for 2026.
PO are shit and I am sure we won't be doing them again.
You don’t punish a $900k player cos he signed 2026+. You use him in his best position for the benefit of the team in 2025.If Dyl leaves we will know soon, so if it happens Ryles could turn it into a positive and play him off the bench all year (what a great 14 he could be) give Hawkins and Volkman a crack early to see if they are up to it and if not go all in on getting Wishart on browns money.
Can you explain the Blaize thing again ?
If Dylan was on a vanilla contract and unsigned for 2026, there is no guarantee he would have re-signed or found a home yet.Blaize left. If we knew Dylan was pissing of last November for 26 we could have probably talked him into staying.
The uncertainty of Brown for the next 6 years will prevent anyone wanting to sign as an understudy.

There are plenty of good players who are still unsigned for 2026.

I reckon Dylan will stay with us and Galvin to roosters
I don’t see Dylan working well with walker
It would be no different if they didn't have the clauses. Until they agree to an extension or sign elsewhere, we don't know if they'll still be at the club. Last time Moses was off contract we had to wait until May to find out if he'd be staying: https://www.parraeels.com.au/news/2023/05/18/moses-extends-with-the-eels-007/The circus isn’t having players off contract… it’s having no leverage in the process and an inability to plan.
