That’s because you’re looking at it from the perspective of a pissy, vindictive fan who has been shit stirred by the rugby league media. You want him to f**k off. The club doesn’t. That’s why the PO isn’t a problem for the club. They all love him and want him to stay. It’s why they gave him the options in the first place. Or do you still think coaches do all the contract negotiations even after Ryles admitted he has little to do with it?

Did you read Blaizes article?

He left for coaching and his development. Obviously he felt we didn't have the appropriate team. It was to late by the time Ryles come

I am waiting for Brown to sign a 2-year extension with us and for subsequent years PO's to be removed.
The club will announce Brown has extended until the end of 2027.
Media will announce it as "Brown's contract shortened from 2031 to 2027" and the public, commentators and even this place will go all out on how we had to reduce his contract length to keep him... blah blah blah.

I just don't think he will leave tbh. It's just a gut feel.

And the circus will continue next off season with Moses, then in the 2027 offseason if Moses activates the PO, then again in the 2028 offseason If Dylan activates the PO.

Why do you think the club is desperately trying to renegotiate these contracts?
We aren't trying to renegotiate the contracts, we are trying to extend them.
Why haven't we offered a other PO in the last few signings?
How do you know we haven't offered player options? I showed you the other day that other clubs don't announce them. Maybe we've stoppd announcing them too.

But also, not every player wants a PO if it means taking a pay cut. Dylan Brown has two POs out to 2031 yet he is chasing more money instead.
This has been spoken about ad nauseam
It sure has.
but we got people telling us it has something to do with insurance... and that the club knows what's it doing...
They at least know better than us slobs.
these guys haven't won anything going on 40 years.
These guys have only been in charge since 2019 and they've won 55% of their games in that time.
They're lucky theyre a sports organisation cause if they were a real business. They would have been done for a long time ago.
Mazda has never been the top selling auto manufacturer in the world yet they are still making a profit.

Then why have they been trying to re-negotiate the Moses and Drown contracts to have the PO's removed??
They are trying to extend them, not renegotiate their contracts. When they sign an extension it's a new contract. A better question is why Dylan Brown is looking for an upgrade rather than keep his options.

Murdoch is running paywalled articles re Blaize breaks his silence and some gibber.

Blaize Talagi rejects rumours surrounding his Eels exit

Blaize Talagi knows he caused a stir when he ditched Parramatta to sign with cross-town rivals Penrith. Now the budding backline star reveals why he left – and why he has no regrets.

He's hardly going to say it was about money is he?

Your 100% spot on.

While Dylan does the world tour we have our hands tied behind our backs waiting on the decision.

We can't commit ourselves to any replacement as technically Dylan could then say no i am staying.

Its utterly a ridiculous situation and the club deserves all the criticism they get for it.
We can't commit ourselves to a replacement because we want him to stay. The club don't want him to f**k off merkin and don't let the door hit your arse blah blah blah. That's sports fan mentality not sports administrator mentality. If he's going to leave, we'll know soon enough and then we can commit his cap space elsewhere. If he decides to stay then we got what we wanted.
Its shit business and btw did the POs really drive the price down
Dylan Brown seems to think he sold himself short.

You don’t punish a $900k player cos he signed 2026+. You use him in his best position for the benefit of the team in 2025.
This is why we don't want the club run by fans. Testing the market? Merkin you can f**k of now! Signed elsewhere for 2026? Enjoy 2025 in reserve grade you f**king traitor!!!

Blaize left. If we knew Dylan was pissing of last November for 26 we could have probably talked him into staying.
The uncertainty of Brown for the next 6 years will prevent anyone wanting to sign as an understudy.
It's the same reason Katoa left Penrith. He didn't know if Cleary or Luai would be staying so he had to assume they would be.

If this happens, merkins will need to be reminded that Drown willingly gave up his player options in exchange for more money. Which is the exact thing he exchanged for the POs in the last contract.

No club is run by the fans. Stop being such a drama queen. This is a forum for aggressive discussion. There is a difference.

Wayne Bennett dumped Justin hodges to reserve grade when he signed for the Roosters.

I'm sure Wayne was just doing the bidding of the Queensland faithful

Blaize is another overrated player. He has so many flaws in his game yet the wind keeps being blown in his arse.

Unless he can dramatically improve his defense. He'll be in cup. I can't imagine the chin being all that hyped with a turnstile in the side.

I can't see dylan walking away from the sort of contract he signed. Imagine, no matter what happens with form or injury dylan has got his future sorted.

You'd have have to be a special kind of stupid to walk away from that.
If he can get more money in the short term and backs himself to get even more later there's plenty of reasons to walk away from it.
