I rate Talagi but I also rate Iongi. Iongi is a better fullback, and seemingly ready to go right now. I think Talagi has better upside but might never have adapted to fullback, which is what we needed.

TCT overrated Talagi so much . I don’t know what those idiots were looking at. First trial against Saints and I knew that kid had issues. Def not worth 500k. Defensively he needs a miracke coach to help him. So so bad.

hopefully Ionghi does well. His highlights are good but have been burnt by highlight before.

Injured

J'maine Hopgood (back, knee) has made a full recovery from the back injury which saw him miss the second half of the 2024 season. However, he recently underwent an arthroscopy to resolve a knee issue. Hopgood is aiming to begin full training in late January or early February.

I could have told him that for free. My expectations were already extremely tempered.

Talagi has a lot to learn, but but but but teaching players isn’t the coaches job.

I wouldn't be quite so quick to judge. Did you ever see Brett Mullins defend in the line in his first couple of seasons?

For what it's worth, Cleary will turn Talagi into a very good player.

Maybe not in 2025, but he will definitely do it.

The bare bones are there - he just needs fine-tuning, and there's no better coach to do that than Cleary.

I hope Jake kicks on - despite his surname, and limitations, he's a genuinely good kid, with a great attitude, and a strong work ethic.
