We just seem to be a more professional club, from the back office to the football department. Not a ball has been passed this season but I have so much more faith in the Eels than I have for a long time.

I thought his defence was excellent for only his second game against men and his first game in 18 months. He showed he is physically ready for first grade.
Exactly. Sustained success means their fans don’t panic about these things. Look at the player options. We’ve been using these to fit merkins under the cap since at least 2021 but nobody, including the media, gave a shit until we had a 7 win season. Now suddenly player options are big news.
The club can never come out and state that their goal in negotiations is to pay the players as little as possible. Everyone knows it (or they should) but making public statements to that effect would be another media shitstorm, and could harm their relationship with players and managers.
Maybe both parties just wanted something reasonable. Maybe Mitch told his manager not to make him into a circus act, coz he realises that’s the way good captains and club leaders should act.
I think Mitch learnt last time he came off looking bad when that circus got dragged through the media i think at the start of 23.
Everyone is hypothesising, including the ones pushing the narrative that the club was ‘bent over’ etc, etc, while blaming the managers rather than the players who employ them.
Yeah thats why I turned on Gutho and was happy to see him punted. I judge a player by their agent.
Some young, dumb/naive players without a sensible support network could be forgiven. But others, like Gutho, should be judged by how they allow things to play out.
