Cheese to Souths is a interesting one.

He burnt Bennett in the Dolphins contract talks so surprised Bennett is still keen on him.

The other thing is he has a big personality throw in Latrell & Cody not sure if the mix will work adding in another one when those 2 have let souths down in the past.

Anyway there problem if it eventuates.

His family, mum in particular. Were a bit disappointed he was overlooked for a debut with us in preference to the likes Diane Laurie last season. The reality was he had Dylan Edwards blocking his path so had to move on. He has an opportunity now so it’s in his hands. Very similar situation to J’Maine he was crying out for more opportunities with us but his pathway was blocked. Sad because he was so good coming thru I think we should have found a spot for him somewhere. Anyway our loss is your gain on both fronts.

We were very lucky that J'Maine had a player of Yeo's calibre ahead of him, that's for sure.

While I miss Gutherson's energy, and defensive ability, from what I've seen of Iongi, I think we have a good one - great footwork, and some speed.

I love Gutho, but he wasn't super quick. We've been missing some pace at fullback for a while.

Anyway, if the Eels can't do anything in 2025, I am firmly on your bandwagon - seeing you win 5 in a row (while making me very jealous) would be insane, and history in the making.

The Blaize hype is baffling to me, even the media were blowing smoke up his ass whenever they got the chance. The kid showed glimpses of being a good player, don’t get me wrong but he really shouldn’t have even got into first grade last year but our outside backs were absolutely shot. He could develop well, but only time will tell on that front. His biggest issue is giving a shit to actually try in defence and off he ball on offence. If your system can make him give a shit he will probably be a good player.

He was injured for a good proportion of his key junior years, no?

Mitch out for 6 weeks

Mitchell Moses will miss the next six weeks after scans revealed a stress reaction in his left foot.
It is the same foot Moses had surgery on last season.

In a major blow, the Eels captain will remain sidelined with the aid of a boot throughout his rehabilitation.

The diagnosis has been delivered after the Eels sought internal and independent medical opinions.

NRL physio mentioned a stress reaction is basically bruising, and can become a stress fracture which would be a 8+ week recovery

Anyone willing to bet if we get more than 10 games out of Moses this year?

surely he rules himself out of rep footy

I'm intrigued to see how we're going to go for the next 6 weeks now.

Under the previous coach I would've put a straight line through us for the next 6 weeks.

It will be interesting to see whether the change of coaching regime has actually made any difference to the mentality and football knowledge of the squad.

If we're 0 from 6 then the entire squad can pack up and f**k off as far as I'm concerned.

Was interested in the quote from J'maine last night that we are the luckiest team in the comp that we are the ones that get to try and knock off Melbourne first up. It might be delusional but they seem to be going in with the right frame of mind.

It’s kind of funny, in so much I have never quite understood bringing Blaize to our club. I’m not suggesting he doesn’t have talent, rather I just think we had similar talents within our club. I hope he proves me wrong and is a world beater but I can’t help but feel the hype has exceeded the ability. Anyway he is playing NSW Cup this week in the six so I will watch with interest. The kid who we picked in the six in round 1, Jack Cole, is a decent talent and a super defender.

Blaize attack is awesome. His defense needs work.
J.Cole could play hooker I reckon. I noticed he got into dummy half a few times
