How much do you guys reckon tyran wishart is worth?

I prob offer him 700k
Why? He isn’t proven and there’s a better than even chance he fails to turn out to be an high level NRL half. We’ve just been burnt on a player we’ve being paying on potential for 5 odd years, failing to really deliver. If we want Wishart, I’d be paying him on what he could currently deliver and ask him to back himself to prove he’s worth the bigger contract. If that’s not what he wants then I don’t think he’d fit what we need

That's pretty much what I'm saying.
We can offer him more than what he's getting now, but I wouldn't offer too much more. The carrot for him to join us would be the starting position in the halves. He has a chance to come to the club and cement his spot and earn a big payday after a couple of years.

If not, he can keep coming off the bench for chump change in Melbourne. Munster and Hughes aren't leaving there just yet, and he also has Pezet to contend with.

I moved to another company after being offered more money. I was with my previous job for 11 years and loved working there but could not turn down the offer.

After 6 months at the new place I realised I f**king hated working there and quit. Sometimes money isn't everything.

Although if they were paying me $1.3m a year I probably would have stayed. Maybe.
I can do better. I was at a place also 11 years (although I didn’t really like it but conveniently I was there long enough to get long service), moved to a place for more money then 7 business days in realised I didn’t like any aspect about it. Actually got fired before I quit. Even if they were paying me $1.3m a year, I reckon I’d have topped myself before staying (not even joking).

We haven't exactly been winning much with Brown in the team - he's not exactly Darren Lockyer...
Lockyer was one of those players that would get the team over the line through sheer will. Ok he was talented too but he gave everything and demanded the same.
For the money they are paying Drown, you’d want the kind of leadership Lockyer had and Cleary has.
Edit: to be fair he did chase hard in defense. But I still think he is a long way off Lockyer and Cleary in leadership and also clutch plays.

Ryles is going to know better but I just feel if we have to pay that sort of money on an untried player, we’ll be overpaying
But if we call Wishart an untried player, then we might be paying over $1m for a 6 and our spine is taking up alot of our cap. I think next to Moses he is a decent bet, and if one of our juniors like Fletcher, Lynn or Twidle step up he can always play 9 down the track.
On the other hand there is Galvin who is not available till 2027 and Isaac Moses manages him - he will cost us easily over 1m by then, plus the drama with the manager down the road looking after both halves.

I just think $700k for Wishart is a massive risk. I read somewhere that he supposedly on half that at the moment. If I were trying to sign him, I’d offer him his current salary plus maybe up to $100k extra as relocation for 2 years max. That gives him the opportunity to prove he’s more than the undefined bench role player he currently is.

Galvin will highly likely get priced out of our range but I’d be disappointed if we don’t kick the tyres. I think commentators are blowing their loads a bit too eagerly over him (which will probably be why he’s overpriced) but he is showing a lot of good signs.

Luai is likewise probably out of price range but he is a proven performer. Although I’m not sure how I’d feel about that.

Yep, they might be a bit disappointed but I reckon Ryles and NBrown will be running their hands together thinking about how much cash they have to spend.
You do realise that Sarantinos, ONeil and Rogers are at the forefront of our recruitment, they basically stuffed the side up since the GF by signing basically very ordinary replacements.

Not sure of the confidence level, mine is not that high without a lot of input by Ryles and Brown.
