Gould with Rookie Coach now challenging.

Then you have the absolute good governance CEO dope managing to turn us into a spoon team. They have no clue. We don’t have footy people in charge. They would not know how to run a footy club or build a club. I’ve been saying this for the last 2-3 years that they will turn us into the f**king tigers. And here we are getting flogged by the Tigers. Absolute disgrace

I don't care who our CEO is as long as our general manager of football has an idea.
We don't know the Storms CEO or Dogs only their head of football

But at the moment he has no clue alongside the recruitment guy.

If we sat down at the start of last year and asked how many Bulldogs players a team would want it would be about 3 and we have one of them now .

Even Penrith are getting significantly weaker year on year . BA didn’t get the most out of anything . He had 11 years to develop strong attack and defensive systems , he had international halves , rep forwards .. our best years were 2020-2022 when the comp was going through disruption and we were one of the few teams with a lot of continuity. We still copped pastings , developed his raw as hell 18 year old as a back up half and guys in our team weren’t improving as much as they could’ve . Our systems didn’t hold up against the best sides , our youngsters coming through in the backs were reserve grade quality ..

More than any time in history the top end teams are built on quality systems and players that can fill their role in the system . Bulldogs deliberately targeted players they needed to execute roles , Penrith recruit that way and have developed that way , Melbourne have done this for a long time . They aren’t the biggest name recruits they’re guys that will do the job.

We have way too many guys that don’t live up to what they have to do . Our outside backs look like they’ve received little to no football education since they came in . Penisni and Russell have bombed that many opportunities since they came in .. not to mention their defence and decision making. BA has been blowing smoke up Penisinis ass for years saying the club will be built around him while his play has deteriorated season on season . He’s at a point now where he’s almost unplayable in the top grade till he fixes massive problems in his game . All these issues have fallen onto Ryles .
We have little to no leadership, a complete lack of direction when Moses is out.. he has recognised this and tried to bring in an actual back up half who has also been out injured . I think if you sit back and look at the big picture Ryles is making moves to recruit , play and develop guys who play how he wants and guys with a bit of IQ. There’s been a lot of recruits from the Dogs system so he obviously rates Ciraldo as a coach . The system will be greater than the parts in the system when all is said and done .
I think the Dylan Brown situation should also give fans more confidence in Ryles . Dylan has displayed below average football IQ since he started , he’s made questionable decisions on and off the field and has shown a complete inability to guide a side around without Mitch. To top it off he’s given us little to no value the last 3 years and come asking for more years and tried to get us to go head to head with a ridiculous knights offer . He wasn’t worthy of bending over for . I’m sure having to navigate this season with a distracted and maybe even slightly unwanted Dylan is another obstacle but he’s done what’s best for the club . We can’t have a half for 10 years that won’t step up if Mitch isn’t there, lacks dependability in his week to week performance , has shown no ability to bring through the next crop of young halves and can’t even be counted on to be part of our leadership group . We have the right guy in charge fans just have to be patient because the media sure as hell won’t be .
@TheRam would be proud of this post

85% of NRL players are good players in great teams and average players in shit teams.

The other 15% are the result influencers and determine whether the 85% are good or average.

In 2024 we had 3 result influencers in the entire squad. Two were shown the door and not replaced with another result influencer, and one is out injured for at least a third of the season.

You won't play Finals football with only one result influencer in your squad.
And three of your spine players with less than 5 NRL games each. That's unheard of ffs.

I agree it is a risk but right now Brown isn’t stopping us having 40 put on us, given his situation he is far less likely to care if we lose every game by 40 and even if he does then you run the risk that by him helping us not get slaughtered every week, that he actually becomes worth what he’s being paid, only for him to take that to Newcastle.

Conceding 40 this week is a distinct possibility. How will you feel about Brown then?
Agree...if he's checked out then the best thing for all parties is to let him go.
Can't remember (coz I don't want to) but he was languishing in the background when a team made a break. Normally he is chasing his arse off...it was evident he couldn't be bothered.
When you have that kind of attitude in team environments it rubs off and affects others as well...
Let's see Hawkins this week and also see when Moses comes back...if Brown is still plodding then plod up the F3 or M1 whatever it is called these days as quickly as possible

Self inflicted for one of those positions though.

We've made the decision for one of those positions for our Captian and 200 Plus NRL game veteran to be replaced by a bloke whose played one NRL.

In fairness they thought they had moses and Brown

Jr probably didn't realise when you lose mitch, you lose both

Despite who is in or out the club has zero leadership, zero footy smarts, no footy IQ.
I mean we barely attempt a strip, take a quick tap, kick early and have everyone chase.
We can't even chase in a straight line..
Also the other day when we were continuously kicking off, we were kicking straight to Royce Hunt who was running off the back fence. ..I mean when does someone go hey let's kick to the other side....

Blaize Talagi will play fullback for Penrith tomorrow, will be an interesting watch

Panthers: Tom Jenkins has come into the side at fullback on Wednesday after Daine Laurie was originally named to replace Dylan Edwards (groin). New recruit Isaiah Papali'i is set for his first match since the club's Las Vegas opener and has been named on the bench in his return from a hip injury. Daine Laurie has been handed the fullback jersey with Dylan Edwards sidelined with a groin strain. The reshuffle has seen Brad Schneider come on to the bench with Blaize Talagi the 18th man.

Tom Jenkins is named but my Penrith mate has some info that Jenkins will replace McLean on the wing and Talagi will come in at fullback. Could be wrong though not 100%

Well he's changed the half who was kicking. Moreover, it's first 2 rounds with 3/4 of a new team, a new coach.
I think this year will be another 2013 to be honest.
