Rumours and Stuff

do we look at Clifford as a stop gap option for 1-2 years? He’s a solid player. Not flashy but certainly first grade quality and would play well in a deputy role while we either go hard for a marquee or develop from within
There in lies our problem. Those kind of signings just leads to an endless cesspit of spoons. You’d rather blood juniors along side Moses.

Preference is certainly to blood juniors, but if our juniors are still 18-24months away, or we genuinely feel we have a shot at Galvin or someone similar, we need someone in the meantime.

Hawkins can certainly fill that role, but Clifford has a bit more experience and running game in him, whereas Hawkins is definitely a kicking/organising 7.

What actually changed in terms of culture?
Did you actually get an answer for this question?

I've yet to see anyone spell out what this "new culture" is and show me the evidence of it in our team. Just more bla-bla-bla corporate speak crap.

Oh for the days of frontloading our efforts and chasing the collision. Anything would be better than the crap we're asked to put up with at the moment.

Happy that they're blooding some of our more promising juniors but do we have to do them all at the one time. I don't think it's doing much for their confidence.

Glad i'm no longer a paying Member as it looks like the only game we're capable of winning in the short term is Rnd 10 vs Dolphins and given what they charge Members, it's definitely uneconomic in the joy category. The "No Gutho, no win" (since 2017) curse will extend for a while yet although even the Great One would be hard pressed to lift this sack of shit that masquerades as an NRL side.

I liked the chasing the collision and attack with offloads. It's how we beat Penrith. But we never made improved on it as a strategy

I suspect Dylan doesn't really want to go to Newcastle, but now he's signed he can't do anything about it, and this is a significant contribution to why he is playing the way he is at the moment.
Nah, mate. Who cares about what if's and suspecting? It may not look like it now but it's the best for all party's going forward.

We just don't have any smarts in the team.

Guth and Moses i believe are smart, the others not so.

Tom couldn't move. But we kick to the side to hopoate. Effenn just kick it to Tom and our jump him.

I don't even think lomax has got footy smarts just physical and hunger.

Probably fox does but he's stuck on the wing
This year is all about next year and beyond. Structures, removing the remaining dead wood, the COE, pathways, collective management and signings. It's going to hurt for some time.............................but we are PARRA!!

Stating the obvious but right now we suck. Paulo, Lane and some other notables need to be flushed out of the system. It's also unfortunate that those who control the purse strings continue to shop via Click 'n Collect rather than bother to go in store and check out the meat section.

He did look lost last year without Mitch. It's just the spotlight is on him more, magnified x 100.

No sympathy for him however. $14m means that you need to wear your big boy pants.

The fact is, Ryles assumed (and why not) that Moses would be playing and Brown would be playing alongside him. All of a sudden this team full of rookies has some shape and guidance on the field.
But without Moses, we effectively lose Brown as well (because he's useless without Moses). So now we have an inordinate number of rookies (including three quarters of our spine playing around half a dozen games or so each) without adequate leadership or guidance on the field. It's not rocket science. I don't understand fans expecting more of this team or the coaching staff at the moment. If things aren't better in two years time, then complain all you like. But for now let's just shut our guts and be patient, eh?
