So the unavailabilty of key players is really unfortunate for JR, but irrelevant to the evaluation of the former coach? Whatever. Let's be clear, part of the unavailabilty of experienced players this year is down to JR's decision to move on both your namesake and RCG. That may well turn out to be a good decision. I hope it does. I suspect we'll give it a red hot go this Saturday anyway.
Well short term it was a risk moving them on.

Medium-long term its the right call.

Gutho is Gutho

He still looks a class above his team mates on the weekend with sheer will & determination.

The dragons looked lost without him. Without him i think we probably win that easily actually which is saying a lot about how bad the Dragons are going.

But how many game do we win so far this year with Gutho there.

I dont think much really changes were probably still 1/5

We got flogged by 50 while he was here.

We lost to the Tigers at home while he was here. And our record was shit without Moses when he was here.

You could say Dylan Brown is missing Gutho more then anybody because Gutho still created points with effort and was an extra playmaker to take pressure off Dylan.

RCG well yeah i haven't been paying much attention to the Titans enough to get a real gauge on RCG.

But them getting walloped by the winless Dolphins at home suggest nothing much has changed up there. They are still an inconsistent side which you dont know what there going to produce.

Re experience leaving, I’ve watched the Tits play th8 year and never noticed RCG playing , at least nothing noticeable.

Gutho is what he is, he’s started well, but he was offered a chance to stay on his existing ciand went off in search of $$$ and got them , think we all miss his determination and will to win, not sure we miss the drama endured each time his contract was up. Iongi looks like the future and happy to run with that.
Haven't watched the Tits (or at least the football team) so I'll take your word on RCG's form. I'd prefer us to have kept one of Gutho or RCG. Anyway, the thrust of my post was the apparently different standards applied to the evaluation of one coach v another.

I think you're right that we'd still be 1/5 or maybe 2/5. And I also think you're right re Dylan B. I guess the issue is the extent to which playing with a lot of inexperienced blokes in the team f**ks their mindset and development. Obviously getting more top grade footy helps, but it helps less when there's not much cohesion. Sunday was much better though, regardless of the result.

I assume Horn Russell will be our goal kicker?
Really wish we had a better option for goal kicking than Sean Russell. He hasn’t been great whenever he’s been called upon in the past. None of the new players in the team are goal kickers? I think Dean Hawkins did some goal kicking for South Sydney. I wonder if he is any better?

Joash I believe is a good kicker. Maybe he'll be in the team
