A colleague who is a massive Tigers fan was telling me that Galvin holds all the fitness records at the Tigers at age only 19...

If that's true, then - despite the unsavoury way he may have carried himself towards the Tigers club lately - it shows he has a level of professionalism that Tim Smith always lacked.
I can see riley and lachy pushing each other for years to come

Together with iongi we have a good young spine

Moses to be the master

I just hope we can get some quality forwards.

Paulo has some mileage left in the tank, I think.

Williams is probably a good foil for him, and Tuivati - if we can keep him - will be a quality player for years.

But we need decent edge forwards.

you’re right mate…

our pack needs a total transplant and I suspect with the changes Ryles has made this week he’s more than aware of this.

Yet, here we are.
Grown men furiously typing away, in the sometimes useless pursuit of success for our team.
At least we don't have our team's mascot on our bed sheets. ;)

Absolutely.

I often wonder why I indulge in the masochistic pursuit that is supporting the mediocrity of the Parramatta Eels.

And I am yet to find a satisfactory answer!

I genuinely think I'm insane, seeing that we've conceded 50 points twice, and are 1 and 5...but I genuinely have faith in Ryles.

I get the impression from him that he knows what we need, but getting it done will take time.

I, for one, am willing to suffer the short-term pain, if he can set us up for success.

I reckon Ryles didn't know the magnitude of what f**kery he was getting himeself in for but I think he's just decided to ride with it and rip the guts out of the crap thats there.

it's definitely a 2 year project at the very least.

Gus has come out and said Lachie Galvin is the best young player he has seen and will be the highest paid player in the history of the game.

Now if that isn't a conflict of interest putting pressure on the Tigers I don't know what is.

It's a disgrace every week he can use his channel 9 podcast every week for agendas.
I posted this back in August last year.

And i have no doubt part of this weeks events come back to the Tigers feeling pressured they had to offer Galvin big money now otherwise it would been a disaster come November 1 where clubs were lining up to get him.

I could spot it a mile away.

In all honesty its time the game actually grew up.

And made it part of the T&Cs any club official can not have an official media role with broadcasters in the way Gus does with channel 9.

No other sport will allow this to happen where a GM of football of another club could inflate players market values through media roles especially with salary caps involved.

He underestimated the mental toughness & ability of some of the senior players.

Getting rid of Gutho & RCG was a decision based on getting control of the playing group knowing those two were loyal to BA with senior voices.

But the likes of Lane, Matto, Paulo have been poor for 2 x years at least.

Expecting a new voice to turn them around is probably beyond repair at this stage of there careers.

The rapid decline of form in Drown & Penisini who were supposedly the best 2 juniors to come through the BA era as consistent first graders has been a major setback.

Those 2 guys should be kicking on at this stage of there careers and there going backwards or stagnated.

Not sure about the tears then - but the tears now have been fascinating…your post output resembles Pou after a hiding in the BA era!
Show me a coach who doesn’t get flogged at Parra and I’m show you why the likes of Wayne Bennett avoid this place.

But you want to keep scapegoating coaches.

Said it once, said it million times…

And I think he's going to bring them a championship one day
Sounds a lot like what Gus said the other day.
There seems to be a prevailing feeling that if he says something grey enough even on prime time TV that he’ll just be able to deny it’s tampering, even if what he says ends up actually working in his favour.
Part of the line of work I’m in, perception is 9 tenths of the law. If a reasonable person could construe your actions in the wrong light, then you are guilty regardless of actual actions or guilt.
This f**ker makes a dual living off the teat of the game. Surely the game can impose some restrictions on him.
