Nicholson is playing second row. Papalii is apparently retiring next year so they probably want to use Mooney as his replacement.

Well I imagine they don't have a huge amount presently committed to the spine in total. Starling's a good player. Definitely worth a shot, but I suspect the Raiders will keep him if they want to.

Starling I like though I doubt the club is looking for a hooker as Smith has impressed Ryles. We apparently were looking at Bailey until Smith showed his ability. I doubt they want to bring in someone for more money.

I'd say the club sees Samrani as having NRL potential at edge forward. He certainly has the height, and maybe he's slightly too ploddy for the outside backs. It's very exciting.

We also have some decent players coming through Flegg and Ball that we probably should sign instead of plodders just to fill the top 30 (ala Harper /Jirah ).

We didn't have those players coming through when we signed Momoisea and Harper. Now we do. The club has done a great job developing that 19-21 age group. We might have the best crop since 2005.
