The way I see it is if we land Galvin, he could become a long term 6 for us. We have to remember though, how many young players have the media labelled as superstars or 10 year Australian reps that never reached anywhere near those heights?

We thought that about Brown, now we can't wait to see the back of him.

If he signs elsewhere then we look to Twiddle or externally. What I find interesting is the Moses factor (Isaac). Will he screw over Mitch if Mitch wants him in the team?

By the way , good to agree.
Don’t want to criticise people at the club, but watching what has been the results of that area , it’s becoming more frustrating.
Obviously the announcements of the 4 extensions were put out ahead of this issue to calm the waters. Think we all know they were done a while ago hence another attempt to look better than they are.
To be frank, hope my fears are unfounded and he comes on board, but absolutely no confidence in their ability to sell the advantages of the club. The Premierships arei in the far distance and I was fortunate enough to attend them all, getting too old now and fractious to watch a big club fail its objectives. The good old days of a Brian Smith and then Bernie Gurr are fondly remembered. Seemed like we knew what we were doing then.
You actually believe the timing of the announcement was done to calm fans or ‘waters’?
And that the deals were done a while ago?
Because I’ve been reading in here the last few weeks MON was useless for not hanging signed Sam T.
If you knew Sam was signed maybe you could have told everyone here?

Moses probably has a get out clause if Galvin doesn't join us

I mean, the Dogs don't even have a Centre of Excellence. They're still talking about it.

I’ll leave my speculation over this until post the situation being finalised

I’m of the belief that the Galvin wheels got put in motion with us behind the scenes earlier in the season.

Isaac Moses has a rocky relationship with Gus and an awful one with many in the media.

Putting two and two together like they do I wouldn’t be surprised if he signs with Parra and there’s no room for tampering allegations as he was negotiating with the Dogs up until the last minute . Time will tell . The Dogs move doesn’t make sense for tonnes of reasons .

They need a 7 or 1 . Galvin is a 6 or 13 down the track , which they already have filled . He’s also a player very early in his career despite the hype . As Ryles would say .. very early in his journey . Having a 7 like Mitch with him would be invaluable as he builds his game over the next 3 years as opposed to being thrown in a top 4 team and told to get them to the next level . Could be wrong as Gus has shown his biggest flaw for all the good he does is impatience and pulling the trigger on things he wants and worrying about the consequence later .. but from a Galvin perspective the move doesn’t make much sense.
Think Isaac would be enjoying throwing everyone on a wild goose chase. Wherever Galvin goes he is going to need to put his head down , work hard and rebuild his reputation as a team first player that doesn’t have baggage . Again here is a better place to do that as the Dogs have built their culture on that sort of player and brining in Galvin at this point in his career could disrupt that . Time will tell.

Great post.

Why would Galvin leave for the Bulldogs now and risk derailing the season, especially with a fan base that would blame him if things go south? He’d be the scapegoat all over again.

Why take that gamble?

The Dogs don’t make sense to me other than the opportunity to be coached by a coach clearly focused on development and the allure of Gus who could sell ice to eskimos.

Gus has a history of this though. It’s gotta be linked to a massive ego . He fired Ivan Cleary when they’d worked themselves into a top 8 side I’m sure Galvin is a piece he wants at the club and will figure things out a long the way but to me that completely disrupts this season , Galvin doesn’t take them to the next level now and the disruption to that side over the next 18 months will be big . It seems a step backwards for them .

& like you said .. the pressure on Galvin to come into that situation . If he doesn’t hit the ground running and improve them .. that’s a lot to put on a 19 year old kid establishing himself in the league and finding his game .

I could be totally wrong . I just think Isaac has Chammas and Buzz and whoever else running around in circles and wouldn’t be mad about it . Parra makes more sense in a lot of ways . This theory could look dumb by the end of the weekend but I just reckon he signs with Parra and the tigers can’t claim it was always a done deal which may help him down the track depending on what Isaac wants out of them.
