Gould is no genius.
A club looking to win the premiership needs to get the best juniors and at the same time get the best NRL first grade players available.
That is all he does.
He has the advantage of being powerful like he knows everyone and can pull stings. He groomed young Galvin for a year on TV like a weirdo while we all listened.

To those worried about losing out on Galvin, I give you two words:

Lincoln Fletcher

At 18, he's simply too good for SG Ball.

Wouldn't surprise me to see him play NRL in the next two years.

And as long as Moses is our 7, we don't need a superstar 6 - Volkmann could do the job.

My honest reaction is ah well, if he doesn’t want to be here, so be it.

I’d have loved to see him at Six as it’s a ready-made replacement for Brown and him and Moses would be a top combination.

But if he doesn’t want to be here, no worries. There are plenty of decent players looking for a start or coming through. The world keeps turning.

You bring a HOF from the f**king shit as tigers what do you expect to happen?
A HOF that got pissed and flopped his dick out a Christmas party.

Then we have the Midget CEO who drops F bombs in front of women and children at a members function. Ryles could be the second coming of Jack Gibson and it won't mean squat if we don't have the right people above him.

I’m confident Ryles is the man for the job but f**k me his colleagues are f**king idiots

Well it was as obivous as the sun coming up yesterday after a Parramatta victory this was how it was going to pan out.

I remember it specifically because I was at Singapore Airport waiting for my next flight en route to London when I saw Gus comments last year on it.
Let’s call a spade a shovel. Gould is a liar, a cheat and probably has an understanding with him from around the time the comment was made. The NRL needs to grow some f**king balls and ban club officials from holding media positions. It’s an absolute f**king disgrace and that ugly lying merkin thinks he’s untouchable. I’m Still wondering what happened with Pangi Junior. They are too gutless to hold the merkin accountable

That comment is very depressing to read.
You need to set your expectations to the reality. We're clearly finding it difficult to entice players who want to and have a reason to come here.

We're obviously going to struggle signing players that other clubs are also interested in.

I’m not particularly fussed on missing him, he’s had one strong season so far and if there’s one thing we should know it’s that one good rookie year for a half sadly doesn’t translate to long term success. It is embarrassing for our recruitment though to blow what seemed to be an open layup.

Exceptions don’t make the rule.
I made a post a few years ago about how Sivo received the ball for all his tries one year. The pass from his centre was a long way behind a pass from the fullback and a kick from one of the halves.

In any case, Penisini was top 10 in LBAs for all centres in 2023, so he knows how to do it: https://www.nrl.com/stats/players/?competition=111&season=2023&stat=31

You'll also note one of the best centres in the game, Herbie Farnworth, hardly gets any LBAs. Centres are in the team for their defence first, running second and ball handling last.

Personally I think we should now prioritise other positions. At least one edge and one middle forward.

Given we have Moses as the 7 and Walker to play that middle ball playing role, and the inexperience in the 1 and 9, and we need better players in other positions, and we have some juniors coming through, then I'd be considering someone who just a middle of the road player with 100 plus NRL games to play 6. Maybe someone at the back end of their career. I don't have any suggestions though.
I don't think we need an edge if we keep Jack there.

Improve the middle yes and hooker

Believe that’s true, it’s the fact the idiots in charge have no ability to sell the club and it’s opportunity etc. We are a big club who appointed someone 8nto the that area and position with no experience , and then backed it up by adding another list manager with no profile.

That wasn’t likely to lead to success.
If we were a big club, why doesn't anyone quality want to be on our board? Why don't they want to work for us?

The pass to setup Samrani was beautiful you don't see that from the space cadet.

Then the try he scored was also beautiful the right foot step nice.

Would be getting him time from the bench like it looked like the plan was last weekend.

He may get the wing spot next round if Penisini is ruled out.
I just worry about his size and his tackling on the front line. If he plays some 14, he'll get some good practice

But what about Micky Lewis?? I don't understand why we don't look into English players eg Welsby. It works in Canberra
Dominating it the Super League doesn’t always translate to dominating in the NRL. Ryan Hall was always one of my favourite players, yet he came over here and looked a spud in his short time with the Roosters. Sam Tomkins showed glimpses here and there when he was at the Warriors but never looked the world beater he did in England. Then of course there’s my favourite of Rangi Chase being the Man of Steel one year over there. Wouldn’t mind having a crack at Welsby, mind you.
