To be fair, the kid was only 19 and claimed he was dealing with a domestic violence issue.

At my previous job if i was ever running late to work i would ringing my boss to inform him.

Just to cover my own arse.

They may be circumstances but i doubt a club sacks a player for turning up to training late to 1 session.

Especially if they were made aware from the get go.

It would have been a pattern of behaviour that eventually led to it.

How boring is the build up to state of origin these days.

Both coaches need to grow some balls and let players off the leash to talk some shit.

Best thing Madge did last year was have a crack at Billy for living behind a glass house.

It niggled Billy who used to being put on a pedestal despite being an absolute grub when he played with every dirty tactic possible.

Who has already played NRL at 19
I like the signing - he could be a bench option some time in 2026 or 2027 if he gets fit and focused.

In the wake of the Galvin debacle I think the path is clear:

1) We need a first grade prop with some size - doesn't have to be massive but has to have some presence;

2) We need an agile second rower with work rate;

3) We may need another first grade squad forward who can play both middle and edge;

4) We need a first grade quality outside back, preferably a centre;

5) We need a five eighth;

6) We need a second hooker.

Some of these may come from within and I would love to see this

1) Pahulu from GC or Mooney from Canberra (he has to be down on the list if Noah Martin was ahead of him yesterday);

2) Billy Burns or Thomas Cant (unlikely) or Harrison Hassett;

3) Starts and ends with Josh Curran - we need to prise him out of what is soon to be a Bulldog logjam when Preston and King need upgrades;

4) This may come from within through Richie Penisini but maybe Jesse Mclean?

5) Love to see Papalii get a go but externally I like the idea of possibly Hugo Savala - actually think he fits even better than Sandon Smith?

6) Canberra have Brailey/Starling/ Pattie all on the books for next year and all just signed/re-signed so we may have missed the boat on Starling - but what about Da Silva or maybe Hudson?

He has not played for a while, so they probably just settled the matter, thus him signing now....

Interestingly it happened around the time tigers were negotiating/signed May.........co-incidence? Or did they need some cap space.....

it depends when he was released? he would of still been under the cap until then.

I thought I saw his name in a team list recently but can't confirm that.

edit: just noticed this article was from March, therefore the tigers would of had 8 months of his contract money available so you could be right.

^^^ remember Moses Suli? This kid might just need another chance. He’s not on our cap yet so what’s the harm.
Yes, I actually did see Suli around a fair bit recently, very humble young man. If it wasn't for his size, you would think he was just an average Joe with kids...not the teenager superstar he was....
