With the likes of Moses, Lomax, Paulo, Lane and Matterson on the books, how many in demand players do you think we can fit under the cap?

well according to you probably none? ....amrite?

you do realise that we lost or about to lose the following out of a cap and really only added 1 blue chip signing who ended up coming for less than the deal before..

Guth
RCG
Sivo
Drown
Cartwright

2 of those are spine players...we also replaced our 9 with a veteren coming of an ACL on half the coin after our 22 season,

and you believe we can't fit a decent under the cap?

The ego of Adam O'Brien to call out fans for booing his team off the field is incredible.

If anything the humiliation may have sparked the turnaround more then anything he could have said at halftime.

The state of play at that moment i don't blame the knights fans. There attack has been a disgrace and it looked like being a another miserable night with no turnaround in sight.

A grade f**kwit
I would say that comment will be either the end of him in Newcastle or a sign he is already aware he is gone. The RL world knows the knights fans are just about the only thing the club has going for it right now. Stupidest comment of the year nominee.

Is anyone with any knowledge able to tell me if we are having a look at Gagai? 1 year deal as he is essentially not wanted at Knights plus 1 Club option. The bloke is so experienced I think he’d be an astute signing those bucks.
A 35 year old outside back? Would be a huge waste of time. He’s already the 7th oldest player in the NRL. I’d rather we used that slot to buy/develop a player who can play there for the long haul.

I have a feeling the club have been sitting this longer than the last re signing announcements.

the cynic in me believes this is an attempt to stop a bararge of emails from members asking them why we couldn't dip our hat in the ring for KPP.

I still remember the great Morgan Harper on his way to the Airport to go play in England. But our much revered recruitment team lead by killa from Manila MON & Jim’s Mowing aka VICTA, well they said NO NOT ON MY WATCH. And they drove out on Mons trolley to the airport (similar to dumb and dumber on the bike) and signed that amazing talent HARPER. And the rest as they say is history. Harper went on to do what he does best.

we are so blessed
We would’ve won the spoon without Morgan Harper. Now he’s at the Warriors. Only an idiot would think NRL clubs don’t need experienced backups.

We’ve lost the likes of Gutho, RCG, Sivo, Offa, Drown, Blake, Mahoney, Nrown who would have either been on big money or above average so I’d say plenty. I won’t include Papali’i or Niukore since they would have been on unders.
We have at least that many on “big money or above average” this year and next. Where we might get value is from the youngsters, just like in 2019-2022.

A very quick and dangerous backline is great when you’ve got the ball. But Iongi and Papalii both in the defensive line? ffs
Now your disparaging our coaching staff who, imo, has already demonstrated that they are capable of improving our defence. Faster backs should equate to better D particularly on the edges. What we need is experience to go with the youth and Wishart provides that, along with 1 good quality middle, and Fa'alongo provides the x factor that Iongi has yet to provide. Btw apparently Iongi played 5/8 in the juniors so has experience there and maybe his talents are better suited in that position?

What I'm looking for is immediate success and players able to break open a game and make us contenders. These are the players capable of that. Think outside the square I say! I highly doubt these Storm players are paid what we can offer them and Ryles has previous experience with them so likely to achieve this. Otherwise we'll just make up the numbers and never truly compete for the title, and I want a title before I die, please!.

Your argument only works if we’ve spent less then or equal to what we’ve lost since our grand final year. Do you think that’s the case?

Only had a win percentage at 37% or 3 wins with us.

Maybe we win the GF without him?!
And he had a win rate of 74% in 2021 where he played his most NRL games in an NRL season - 23 games. In a Manly side that finished top 4.

Overall his win rate is 53%.

So yeah he isn't a top 13 player, but he is hardly a liability either when used. Good depth player. Every squad needs them.
