Rumours and Stuff

Most of the stupidest rules and rule interpretations surround the last tackle kick. Such as in order:
1. the penalty being where the ball lands rather than where the infringement happens.
2. a good charge down restarting the kickers tackle count
3. not being able to protect the fullback (almost have to get out of the road of kick chasers).
4. the list goes on.

I would make the following changes:

(a) a kick caught on the full by the receiving team is 7 tackle set unless kicked from within kicking teams own half.

(b) A kick that goes from anywhere outside (kicking teams' side) of the opponents 40m line to the in-goal sideline is a scrum on the 10m with feed to the kicking team.

(c) the tackle count doesn't restart if the kick is charged down and the kicking team regathers it.

(d) any foul against the kicker - the penalty is where the infringement occurred and it is only 6 again (it is up to the ref if it is a binning but yeah tacking the legs out would be a binning).

This will make bombing less prominent and lower trajectory/well placed sideline kicks more prominent which will open up more charge down possibilities which are one of the best plays in the game.

How about successful chargedowns are rewarded with 3 points?
And maybe even a spin of the post game roulette wheel to try for exciting bonuses added to their next competition game
Ah great "stupid post". We should have done this when whoever was thinking of the ridiculous 40/20 rule or the 6 again rule or the 7-tackle set rule or the touched kicker is a penalty where the ball lands rule.

I reckon field goals should be six points, and if you miss, but not not by too much, you only get one point. Will need to second set of sticks for the one point field goal.

They are absolute pretenders, it took them 65mins to put us away with every leg up and our shoddy handlings. I can see these frauds going out backwards in the finals.
As someone else posted, Dogs are the most overrated overhyped team in the comp.

A bit of perspective on their season so far is to compare and contrast their draw after 14 rounds with that of the Eels.

The first outstanding thing to note is the Eels have played last year's 1 and 2 and grand finalists whereas Dogs are yet to be tested by them.

Eels have played double the amount of games against 2024 top 8 teams 6 to Dogs 3.

Of their 12 games Dogs have played 2024's bottom 4 teams 5 times whereas Eels have played 2024's bottom 4 twice.

Besides last Monday's game a good gauge of where we stand and the Dogs season so far is both our games against Dolphins. We lost on conversions whereas Dogs were absolutely flogged and lucky not to have 50 put on them.

If Sutton held the Dogs to the same account as the Eels when it came to 6 agains (and Eels didn't turn it over on our one first half 6 again) the game would have been a different story.

Here's my compare and contrast of our respective seasons so far:

The only reason the last two will play for Parra will be because we're happy to pay them at least $1.5m per season. I don't think they're realistic options in any way, shape or form.

Whatever we would have to pay Fifita to come, it will be twice as much as he's worth.
f**k it pay whatever it is just fix up the team to try & win a comp
