22 minute mark. First sentence basically says enough. All teams have the same amount of money to spend.
Only on the salary cap.

There is so much spending that occurs outside the cap, and it correlates directly with onfield success. Or else clubs wouldn't spend it.

"You have to look at examples of all the kids now. Jarome, Nathan, Dylan Edwards, Brian To’o … we spent a lot of money on all of them from when they were 14 or 15 years old …

Spending on 14 year olds is not covered by the NRL salary cap.

"No matter how much it costs you, if you can afford to do it, there are rewards at the end."

"If you can afford to do it" makes it clear that not all clubs can afford to spend as much as the Panthers. Therefore they don't all have the same amount of money to spend.

So they spent less than 5 million dollars on football department in 2019. After taking the 12.5 for the cap.
Their is also a soft cap which you don't seem to mention at all.

Looks like they were a better run club and had people around that knew how to be successful.

Glad we have bought Ryles and hopefully MON is next to go and we can become a successful club.

Wasn’t about the cap. I don’t know how many we have employed now or traditionally or what we are compared to other clubs but they said on there about how some clubs have more employed in pathways , some clubs don’t have anyone employed in recruitment

Sounded like the cap when he said all clubs had the same to spend.

Yes the line where he said they don't have anyone employed in recruitment was an early opener. Wonder which club this was..

In a professional competition, you need to have the correct structure in place or just pack it up and hand in your license..

The salary cap was less than $10M in 2019. So they spent an extra 70% of their salary cap on expenses outside it.

Since we finally got the CoE finished (nine years after Penrith) we have upped our spending on the pathways. Thanks for building the new facility and finding all this extra money Ryles!

I don't think you understand at all..

The cap was 9.6 Mill in 2019 they spent 12 million on wages. From Matt's to NRL..

We can spend as much as possible but With MON at the club we are f**ked.

Thanks MON for wasting the window we had and not having a plan in place for th football department..

So again how about that soft cap..... Head in the sand moment for Pou?

@Poupou Escobar needs to understand that player agents and players in general do not like dealing with MON. It was revealed in a survey. Even BA had a frosty relationship with him. The guy is a non event. Not you, Pou (you’re still an effective troll).

then we have Mr Big Words Jimbo. Who would likely get his graphs and pie charts out trying to sell club to players. Club is stuffed.

I know we have to have good governance but does that mean we have to have good incompetence? They are a pathetic and embarrassment of a management team.

The ‘correct structure’ depends on your budget. Which is why Panthers Group CEO Brian Fletcher said clubs should spend what they can afford.

You could have all the money, resources, facilities, the logo on the helmet everyone wants to wear, the hottest cheer squad etc

But if you got no idea what you're doing, you ain't gonna win anything!Screenshot_20250622_154828_Firefox.jpg

I understand everything. I am the smart one around here, not you.

$12.5M actually, so they spent nearly $3M just on wages for non-NRL playing staff. Plus another $5M on other benefits.
We can spend as much as possible but With MON at the club we are f**ked.
Says who? Not the people who employ him, who actually know better than you. Why have you decided MON is the scapegoat? Do you even know what his responsibilities are? Some dope suggested he was responsible for recruitment, even though we have another bloke whose literal job title is Head of Recruitment.
Thanks MON for wasting the window we had and not having a plan in place for th football department..
The previous one closed in 2009. I wonder whose fault that was.
So again how about that soft cap..... Head in the sand moment for Pou?
This expert thinks it would be a good idea:

You and the brains trust can tackle that one. I'll be over here with my head in the sand.

Just like Nathan Brown's nepotism review about the local comp (every organisation run by volunteers is powered by nepotism), it looks like you've added your own preconceptions to that player agent survey. It said nothing about Mark O'Neill, it said we are the third least popular club among agents, at 13.5%, just behind the Bulldogs. I bet those merkins love clubs with deep pockets full of TPAs and other kickbacks though. Makes you wonder why 11.5% of agents rated the Bulldogs the hardest to deal with.

Should be plenty of food for thought, but people like you skim over a survey like that and come away with your confirmation bias enforced. Obviously the survey should've had your scapegoat MON's name in the title.
