Every time we sign a player it runs rhe risk of pushing juniors out.Interesting signing… I understand the state of the cap with the new franchises coming in have blown it out a bit but $650k (ave) over 4.5 years does seem overs for a 20yo kid.
It’s a big investment in terms of both time and dollars. They are obviously convinced that TDS is the style of player we need.
I thought no doubt he would be at Manly where he would likely walk into the 9 jersey, so that’s a victory for the recruitment team to convince the kid we are the right club for him.
I like the thought of a Ryley/TDS combo in terms of their play styles complementing one another. They are still both young and developing though,TDS has struggled with the physical demands of first grade so far, I just hope he grows into those Eyebrows.
I would say this signing will mean Coinakis will more than likely look for a new club with better long term opportunities.
I haven't seen coinakis play he might be a gun or could be a dud.
Our track record with juniors doesn't give me confidence atm. And that's not writing off him or any others of our current crop.
I just want to see it transfer to NRL over a period of time where you see 3 or 4 make it and turn into quality first graders.
Like no club has talk up there juniors for a decade and delivered barely anything like Parramatta.
Will Penisini and Dylan Brown would be the best of the bunch in the past 10 years.
Unfortunately both are playing well below there potential atm.
