I reckon he shouldve put someone in the bin for that. Maybe the captainWas it the Parra game where we saw the defense deliberately giving up scrum penalties (near try line) by not packing in time OR by blatantly breaking the scrum early rather than allow the scrum play (to the frustration of the ref)?
Is this rampant in the league?
What do we glean from this?
Should it not be a catalyst for a wider conversation about coaches and rules?
If rumours and innuendo are true it might be more to appease a member of the coaching staff… and no not Benji. But who knows.Actually this part of it makes perfect sense to me and I agree with what this decision.
Api is a gun and is still a gun right now and will be for a few more years. he will be 35 at the end of his career. Tigers need to win games now and in 26 and point bluntly Api makes that more likely and TDS doesnt. Tigers have Jared Haywood coming through who will take his place and will be a better 9 than TDS.
The timing (immediate now) makes no sense to me. I can hypothesise that they have written off this season now and using that money to front load Contracts, maybe Api's to make things work but TDS was on $400K and the year is half done so it would be less than $200K? I cant get my head around that part.
You are indeed Uncle Arthur.Matt Arthur is playing well in reserve grade, and only a year older than Coinakis, who has so far only played well in SG Ball.
One argument in the affirmative would be if Lussick was coached by Bellamy and surrounded by 5 other borderline immortal level players and 10 other very good first graders like Smith was for the first 8 years of his career. Are you arguing that Lussick could be as good as Cameron Smith? If so I’d love to hear your argument. I’m certain I can counter any point you try to make. I’ll start with the obvious one: how many NRL players improved after the age of 30? You’d have more luck arguing that Ryley Smith could be as good as Harry Grant, which I also disagree with, but there is less evidence against it.
I suspect the Storm are much better at junior recruitment than development. One argument in the affirmative would be if Lussick was coached by Bellamy and surrounded by 5 other borderline immortal level players and 10 other very good first graders like Smith was for the first 8 years of his career.
Still unlikely he would be Cam Smith level but he would be good.
What about put the coach in the bin as he is the f**ker putting them up to it? They do that in baseball. They eject the coach (for dissent, not professional fouls).I reckon he shouldve put someone in the bin for that. Maybe the captain
There's a post in the Tiggers forum with an even wilder rumour about why he wanted out of the joint. If rumours and innuendo are true it might be more to appease a member of the coaching staff… and no not Benji. But who knows.
Possibly but more likely about the same I reckon. Bellamy was so far ahead of the rest of the coaching fraternity in terms of focusing hard on the dark arts etc - that is part of development of players. Winning the ruck - Storm were head and shoulders above other for ages and Smith cashed in. Could be wrong.I suspect the Storm are much better at junior recruitment than development.

I can only assume that they have Api locked down....surely.Failing that, if the Tigers have given him their word that if they look to extend Api he’s good to go, then good on them for sticking by their word. The key is of course keeping Api otherwise it’ll blow up deluxe you’d imagine.
Every time we sign a player it runs rhe risk of pushing juniors out.
I haven't seen coinakis play he might be a gun or could be a dud.
Our track record with juniors doesn't give me confidence atm. And that's not writing off him or any others of our current crop.
I just want to see it transfer to NRL over a period of time where you see 3 or 4 make it and turn into quality first graders.
Like no club has talk up there juniors for a decade and delivered barely anything like Parramatta.
Will Penisini and Dylan Brown would be the best of the bunch in the past 10 years.
Unfortunately both are playing well below there potential atm.
That’s an odd rumour and reason to leave a club (with some assumptions made). There's a post in the Tiggers forum with an even wilder rumour about why he wanted out of the joint.
Hang on you are claiming TDS as a junior now?Yeh I 100% agree.
Realistically we are gaining a highly touted junior with NRL experience potentially at the expense of another highly touted junior who hasn't even played reserve grade.
From what I can see from our Pathways currently we have finally got them in order with most of our junior teams consistently performing well in their divisions over the last 2-3 seasons. Plenty of solid talent coming through but I'm not sure if there is any out and out guns amongst them at this stage.
I hope a few do emerge and eventually fill in the gaps around our core group in first grade.

Well according to the rumours, if a senior married team mate of his had of kept his cock in his pants, negotiations may have been more amicable.
There’s that infamous comprehension skillHang on you are claiming TDS as a junior now?
