2017 I felt was our best chance. A poor ref's call cost us an away win at Melbourne in the first final. We had the x factor to win it.
2017 for me was like 2005 in so many ways (f**k the Cows) in that Gutho’s injury really hurt us come that semi. We were in quicksand at halftime but I reckon Gutho may have been a bit of a steadier, certainly more than Smith.
Even if the result ends the same, Gutho also having that experience may have helped us in the finals years later.

I feel like we where the Manly/Sharks during BAs period. We never felt a genuine title threat. Just kinda make finals and bow out easily.
2022 we copped some wild thrashings and late in the season also. By memory we had the 8th best points differential and if im being honest id say the Cowboys dominated that semi final game and where the better side. We held tough and got a bit lucky.

The Dogs and Canberra on the flip side both look genuine chances. Tbf but Penrith are in a semi rebuild and Storm haven't fired yet.
Its a weak comp.
You obviously need some luck to win a comp. We didn’t have it under BA, and we didn’t under any of the previous eight coaches. Hopefully we get some luck under Ryles.

Thoughts?

Edit, it’s a clip of Matty Johns declaring Jason Ryles WILL win a comp with Parramatta.

That's a big statement

Andrew Voss said today on radio he is one of the coaches of the year.

Because he has stayed true to what he believes in and isn't coaching worried about losing or his W/L record which a lot of coaches get frantic about.

You need luck to win a comp but at least with Jason if it doesn't pan out i reckon he will leave the club in better shape then what a lot of coaches previously have here and other clubs.

I noticed whenever the NRL set up a committee from club land for anything to review or possibly change rules

We never get a start at the table.

The Dragons even got there chairman in.

In terms of Gus pulling out.

I think the NRL knew that from that get go.

Gus has never been apart of these game wide reviews.

Which I reckon is on purpose as it gives him free reign to bash the game whenever he wants to suit his agenda so he can claim he wasn't responsible.

Gus would have been like the smug prick at the table keeping his mouth shut and letting the other fools talk thinking he was too clever for the other blokes and that unless he is in fully in charge or control he cant deal with it.
Yep. Gus is more likely to get someone onto the board, rather than himself, who he has some control over.

I think Jason Ryles could be our
Craig Bellamy!
