Adam O'Brien - A Useless bush coach dope with literally no idea will be gone next year - Never to coach in the NRL ever again
Sometimes, being a Tigers fan is really hard. Its been 14 years since we played finals footy, very little game success, watching richer clubs pinch our talented juniors, clawing at fragile hope.

Then I watch a Knights post game press conference and realise that things could be worse and I feel a lot better.

I really like Moretti hey. Last night I noticed he seemed way bigger than I realised. How old is he?

I was told in the off season that Ryles was really a fan of him.

If he is young he is obviously still growing. He is a handful it seems and he plays hard.
I like Doorey especially his acceleration which I think shocks the defender and helps him poke his head thru. I hope he goes a long period w/o injury

25..

probably considered a late bloomer but yeah I agree he's a better player this year and anotgher off season with Ryles could make him close to elite.

Late bloomer but ironically was a bit of a prodigy as a schoolboy.... The Roosters letting him go was the kick up the arse he needed. I think he's in our best 17 every week, he's a goer.

Jason Ryles deep dive. Thank me later.

15.41min it starts.

Edit : it wasn’t deep dive at all, sorry.
Just about everybody is seeing what we are seeing and feeling; we have a coach that can build a team that is capable of improving each week and actually doing that, for the most part.
Russell, is a good example. He’s now noticeable out there for the good things he does.
Credit where it’s due…if you had said we would offload/manage out RCG, Gutho, Sivo, Lane, Matto, Hands, Carty (who did I miss?) I would have said that was a Gus style clean out beyond our club.
But we have gone beyond that and blooded some good juniors and youngsters.
The fact we have lost Drown and no one gives a shit, says a lot too.
One or two more signings and another pre-season, we’ll be much stronger next year.
He’s done a great job for a rookie coach coming into a languishing club with a past-it roster.

ML baseball has just had its trade deadline final day which should be called "trade day" as it is a day that is a frenzy of excitement, hope, expectation and hundreds of trades. It is far more exciting than their all-stars game/week or their draft.
Interestingly players can enter into contracts that say they cannot be traded without their agreement (Giancarlo Stanton has one). Which means players must get paid more than they otherwise would in exchange for the possibility of being traded. Given the later, why shouldn't/couldn't the NRL go down the road of clubs being able to trade players like this.

If he can stay fit and gets an off season at edge he could be that bloke. Was he transitioned into the middle for any particular reason. Is his lateral movement suspect?

I love how Ryles is staying the course.
Everyone wanted Riley back on last night and this may well have been a contributor to our loss, but he needed to get more minutes into TDS. By games end TDS was looking more comfortable and more dangerous. Hes playing the long game.
Additional hes obviously got an opinion of Moretti to start him over Dylan last night then bring him back on near the end.
I was surprised however at the minimal minutes Big Sam and Dorey got last night. Hopefully not injured.
Not sure how he fixes the dropsies though. Hopgood, Paulo and Williams were big issues last night. I know it's been said but Hopgood just needs to run hard, play the ball quickly and tackle.
We may have to wait till the preseason to perfect our tackle technique. It's an art to peal off slowly and in the right order to control the ruck. It remains a significant issue.

But then they made the finals four of the last five years unlike the poor old Tiges. You might even learn to love those press conferences  :p

If hopgood and Paulo just ran like in the brissy game that's enough. We have walker to do the ball playing and the halves and paps.

I like tds work with the forwards but i think everything else riley is better atm especially defense. Tds sort of arm grabs. Riley's kick was gr8. He did one against the broncs too

Riley Smith was great last night. I like him taking on ore responsibility. His long kick was a peach. He needs to develop a short kicking game next. And keep working in 40/20 cause he is very capable of nailing them.

Big Sam was on the ground before being replaced.
If my memory is correct he made a few last ditch tackles last night.

Agreed. He is my new favourite player. That's not discrediting TDS in the slightest.
Its great to have a coach that values the 9 jumper. For too long its been a position given minimal value or "put on hold". To think in a short space of time we have moved on Hands and Lussick and Ryles has locked down Riley and TDS for years to come. Green shoots everywhere.

The former coach knew exactly what he was doing and had clear reasons for not valuing the number 9 role or recruiting properly for it.

Yeah agree. I like Riley to cau see the gives 100% but I still think he needs to add to his game attackwise otherwise Silva probably will over take him.

Ryles has nearly every player giving their best. Very average squad to work with but the last 5 weeks has been half promising.
