I'll give BA some credit for getting us to a decider but about 95% of that side were established players from other clubs and that's inclusing those who came here in their second stints.
95%? Closer to half. Only 8 of 17 were established players when we brought them in:

Simonsson
Blake
Moses
Paulo
RCG
Lane
Papali’i
Matterson

Gutherson and Nrown had debuted already but were hardly established NRL players.

Some vaild points. Having good kids is one thing but nuturing them properly is another.
Arthur has a track record of turning rookies into first graders. My personal opinion is that it is meaningless; talented youngsters will become NRL players no matter where they are, but my comments here are in response to the idea that Ryles is some magic bullet of junior development who is doing something Arthur couldn’t do. It’s bullshit and I’ve shown you why.

I believe Ryles is here because he was willing to coach a development club, which is the vision of Serdaris and the board, whereas Arthur didn’t want to go through it again.
Arthur admitted he never knew where to play Talagi. Having a PO in his contract was the dumbest thing ever.
The PO is a separate issue, and without it we might not have had Talagi even in 2024. Without his attacking contribution we might have come last that year.

As for not knowing where to play him, we didn’t have a vacancy at his best position. What were we going to say? He can’t tackle but gee he can run the ball! We want to turn him into a fullback.
No point in having good kids if you allow your best to get poached. Ryles has re-signed the kids who are standing out right now
Talagi left after we announced Ryles, Russell is leaving, there’s a few others that haven’t been retained, such as Guymer and Renisini. Fingers crossed. I’ll be disappointed if we retain Paulo but lose these youngsters.

I happen to know as fact that Talalgi's disenchantment and exit was due to issues with the existing coach which were too far gone after he was - and I told a few people in these parts privately in April 2024.

But its pointless telling an imbecile who thinks that information straight from the horse's stable is not as reliable as his own deluded and incorrect guesses and ramblings....

I am still questioning (in a big way) if our "pathways" are actually any better than they were 5-10 years ago. We seem to be getting ahead of ourselves as to the development of several players.

Time will tell..

We have always had decent kids playing in our Matt's and Ball sides it the development and Pathways from that age up into Flegg CUP and first grade.

Prime example was Blaize good player but no proper pathways into a first grade position. Due to Brown being at the club long term the 5/8 role wasn't available but others were available.

And yet BA could only develop his kids and their friends and even then he couldn’t bring them on the way Ryles seems to be bringing on these other juniors

Plenty of good juniors gone whilst BA was around. When he prioritised Mannah over Twal I knew he was a rabbit. Twal.may not be a star but he would of been a great 10yr player for us.

BA had done it before, but as a senior coach he likely didn’t have the patience to go through another rebuild. Just find some TPAs and get back in the game ffs. Not our club. Hayne, Radradra, Lomax. Why are these merkins all so keen to leave us in their prime?
I can assure you he doesn't belong in the example you're making here.
Semi going was complicated and zero to do with Parra.
I know this because I was told by his best mate and best man at Semi's wedding.
His name is Obe or Wan Kenobe to some and drove Semi to every home game in Semi's black HSV Commo.
Source: Obe (Wan Kenobe).

I know for a fact that he wanted to play 6 and we didn’t want him to play there. “Too far gone” after sacking the coach who has improved far better players than Blaize Talagi. Give it a rest. I suppose you also believe Lomax left because he wanted to play with Gutherson under Brad Arthur. The fact is these people bullshit the media and anyone else when it suits them.

Crazy how they’re never chasing the money. It’s always “complicated”.

It could be argued that the "pathways" is on the improve based on the fact that we had 15 wins in reserve grade last year versus 9 in 2024 and 9 in 2023. This is the only real evidence.
