Do we count fullbacks as part of the backline? They do get invovled in the backline movements or are they strictly spine. But they do have Ponga there.

Pongas great, best is very very good. Other three i dont rate at all. Gagais too old, dom defends worse than sivo, marzhew does some hard yards from their half but thats all. I think overall its pretty close to our starting 5 in terms of overall talent (slight parra bias). Iongi is good (not near Ponga level), JAC is the best winger out of both teams, seans good, penis imo better than Gagai but might be biased and i prefer bailey over Marzhew/Dom too. Once again maybe some parra bias but i think overall its pretty close

Lorenzo is not much bigger than Joash or the same. So whilst NRL 5/8s are getting bigger, our two options are small. That doesn't mean that skill can't counteract size.

On the upside Lincoln Fletcher looks like he will be quite a big lad when he grows up.

As a smart Eel once said in a podcast, you're far better off having these players on your books rather than trying to sign them up.

I think Pezet has been solid.

I'm pretty confident our 6 will be a better player next year than our current 6 is this year.

I don’t think there’s any doubt that Talataina will be an elite NRL attacking player. The question is whether his defence becomes good enough to be more than a liability without the ball. He is a tiny little bloke but at least he’s very quick and strong. There’s definitely comparisons with a young Ezra Mam, on the field anyway.
