What so you don't think Parra have a choice in sacking the man who is responsible in attracting and signing elite players and has failed to do so every single time any other club has also shown serious interest in them?

So we now have all the best quality resources a club could possibly have and money to burn and spending big on pathways, coaching and all things football, but can't convince any elite players to play with a top 3 halfback( and up till last year an elite 5/8th) and a decent roster that just needs 2 or 3 quality players to turn it into a real contender.

But every other team including bog average ones just seem to gazump us ever single time.

I don't think you understand what makes a winning team. As big Jack said, winning starts at the front office. Our front office need to have no tolerance for failure of any kind. Failure to secure quality players that our roster desperately needs to supplement our juniors coming through is a catastrophic failure to elevate this club out of the mire of mediocrity and onto the podium of success.

I've said it before, we have to get rid of the one constant who has constantly failed to deliver on so many levels, including what happened with the NRLW grand finalist squad we had. How many times must this man live to fail another day. Cats don't have the luck this man has had. I blame no one but the men who pay his salary. They are fools for not being impatient and ruthless for success. It's the only way to have meaningful long term success.

How many more decades should we all wait? Grand children are now adults since we last won the thing ffs!

I know just about as much about making a successful team as you - probably coached as many First Grade games as you, too.

I love the tough draw to start the year. It will bring our fitness level up. Aslongg as we jag 2/5 it's ok.
But the tough draw shouldn't include total capitulation in Round 1. That sets a team up for failure in Round 2. Before you know it the dogs are barking.

Parramatta flyer Josh Addo-Carr is shaping as a shock inclusion for Thursday night’s clash against Brisbane.
Addo-Carr missed round one’s loss to Melbourne after undergoing surgery for a thumb injury suffered in the second week of the trials.
Addo-Carr was initially slated to return in either round three or four but the winger confirmed he is pushing to be back for the Broncos clash.
“It’s good ... I’m a chance of playing but I have a few tests ... a chance of playing this week against Brisbane,” Addo-Carr said.
Addo-Carr will have to get through Tuesday’s field session before the Eels jet off to Brisbane later that afternoon.
If medical staff clear him, his addition will likely come at the expense of either Sean Russell or Bailey Simonsson. Another option is to shift Russell into the centres, which will come at the expense of Brian Kelly.
Newcastle’s Brodie Jones won’t be available for Sunday’s clash against Manly, and remains a week-to-week proposition after the forward missed out on the Knights’ season opener in Las Vegas.
Jones didn’t travel with the squad to the states after he suffered a toe injury in Newcastle’s second trial.

Brisbane Broncos v Parramatta Eels
Thursday, 8pm, Suncorp Stadium
Broncos:
Despite a seemingly settled team list, watch out for Michael Maguire to pull a potential late switch once more in Round 2 with Ben Hunt the key man.
Hunt was shifted from starting hooker to the bench and then into the halves on game day, leaving Ezra Mam on the bench and Cory Paix starting at hooker. Given Mam’s standing as a long term member of the spine, Maguire could be under pressure if the move backfires again.
Elsewhere, Jack Gosiewski is once again expected to start with Brendan Piakura not fit.
The rest of their side will be named 1-13.
Eels:
J’maine Hopgood will be unavailable for at least one match following his charge against the Melbourne Storm.
This could see Jack de Belin shifted into the front row and Dylan Walker into the starting lock role. Prop Sam Tuivaiti is also a chance to join the run on side.
Josh Addo-Carr is eyeing an early return from a broken thumb. Sean Russell would likely switch to centre with Brian Kelly dropping out.

We are going to need a hell of a lot more than Josh to even get close on Thursday, though he’s talk won’t hurt, just hope he’s not returning too early

I know the weren’t the same incident FFS…
If you want to think he played competently and that playing the same again is worth keeping him in for another 20 odd games then good for you, but I do not.
I don't think he played well in attack, but his defence was fine. He was isolated (the fault of other players) and defended as well as anyone other than Cleary or Drown. It was his attacking work (holding the ball too long and then losing it in Chan's tackle) that led to the media focusing on that image and pushing the narrative that Pezet is incompetent. Moses has had plenty of worse games than Pezet's Eels debut.

If people think your unpredictable then you dont need a restraint clause. You just need to tell a few stories of what you did to the last person who did wrong by you and they can be complete bullshit. Thats the best part....
Yep, I build restraint/non-compete clauses into all of the contracts for my subbies and staff (especially the casuals) and if someone leaves prior to their contract expiration, then I make them sign a deed of release which re-iterates their original non-compete conditions (among other things).

Closest I ever got to court orders was a Letter of Restraint issued to a former subbie and we negotiated a mutually agreeable position before getting to court. I tell all my new subbies and staff about him and what happened.

Are we going to replace him with anyone better? If we had the 17th best "man who is responsible in attracting and signing elite players" in the NRL, he is still better than anyone currently hoping to be offered that job. Are you planning to put your hand up for it?

I f**ken know the circumstances around the Chan tackle. Being isolated and the team not giving him a chance in attack is what gives him BOTD to me, because his defensive effort was atrocious. Multiple times near our try line, sure he was pulled out of position but there was no desperation. Munster and Hughes may have missed more tackles but you can’t miss tackles if you don’t attempt them.
Moses may have had worse games but he’s also had plenty of far better games than Pezet’s best AND he’s contracted beyond the next 20 odd games. Also I would say Papalii hasn’t had worse games than Pezet’s

Just asking. Do you think we'll run out against the Broncos with the same team with/without a possible JAC addition?

When you fell out of the tree, you bumped your head on the mediocrity branch.
Plenty of teams have changed direction on that front over the years and benefitted quickly from doing so.
