They shouldn't, the majority of our regular starting side played 1 half against the Roosters and were getting beat at half time. The youngsters finished the game, and the young ones played the week before.

If he said that during the warm up I'd be taking more notice. It's easy to say that a week after a flogging.

Funny thing is we'll likely miss out on Barnett despite offering him an extra year and an extra $200k each year - so a guaranteed extra $1.3m to what Broncos are offering.

And whilst I don't mind that we will miss out in this instance because its stupid money - it just further shows how unattractive we are to elite players - and how poorly the combination of Ryles, MON and Sarantinos (and the other bloke who i always forget) are at promoting our club as a viable option for players wanting success.

We have the best stadium outside of Brisbane, the best training facilities in the code, the largest membership base in Sydney, a top 2-3 halfback in the game and an exciting bunch of young forwards coming through - the club should sell itself yet players are choosing elsewhere simply because our recruitment team couldn't sell hand warmers to an Eskimo

Penisini is frustrating isn't he. If he had more pace I think he would be elite. He did some good things against Storm. I think we need an outside backs coach (maybe Hayne). Get him in to coach the outside backs from 1st through to Harold Matthews.

I wasn’t a fan of the De Belin signing but once again I’m prepared to give him time, early signs though surely it’s a bit of a red flag re Barnett.

People forget Barnett for the first part of his career pre warriors was an okay first grader at best. When he signed for the Wahs no one gave a f**k.

That fact adds to the interest I would have in him.
The young Eels need someone around with leadership. How he turned from being an average first grader to a very good/rep level player would be a good thing for our younger and middle aged players to hear about and see. It would be good if Ryles could get to interview him to see if he likes his leadership skills.
