How many has MON now missed out on?

Keaon
Galvin
Barnett
Pezet (longer term deal)
Blaize (Couldn’t retain him)
Papali’i (lowballed him)
Sanders (Couldn’t retain him)
Brown (Lost him because he allowed him sign a stupid deal with too many options)

He’s a terrible recruitment manager. Needs to be shown the door.
Let’s just mention losing Mahoney, Papali’i, Kaufusi , Nrown, and a couple of others in 2022 and replacing them with a Momoseia , Murchie and another nondescript . Then RCG, Gutho, Lomax,Blake, J Arthur and more, his recruitment is close to abysmal . Anyway, let’s see if anything improves and surely a professional board would be looking at this issue which is in plain sight and thinking WTF happened.

Interesting thought.
I’m not from Sydney but I imagine if you are earning decent coin (like rugby league players) you aren’t going to live close to kellyville unless you are born and bred.
just remind us all where Belmore is ,, that’s probably a less than stellar destination, seriously need to stop making excuses, Tigers have improved, Dogs and Raiders . There is no excuse other than inability to do the job.

I think 7 years is more the limit and more weight should be on recent years and that there’s very little difference between finishing between roughly 10th and 16th. I’m not suggesting that Dragons are better performing than us but unequivocally saying they are worse performing is also indefensible.
There’s usually a huge difference between 10th and 16th. Last year it was six wins. Seven years ago it was seven wins. If we won an extra six games last year we would’ve finished top four.

I reckon the club sees a lot of this as:

And I think that attitude is big part of reason they’re not being successful.
Taken out of context. Im not mad we didnt get an aging barnett post injury on major money but im mad we havent made any moves to sign talent going forward esp for 2027 and beyond. So i hope their attitude aligns with building a strong club for at least 2027 because were not looking too hot for this year and its too late

The Panthers players all live near Penrith. Only the most elite players are affording family sized homes near the city, and even then, why waste your money if you’re not playing for Souths or the Chooks?

Is 6 games really that big a difference in 46-47 games in a year? (Not 48 because 2 teams will play each other at least once).
And are you suggesting that wins are the only, even just the most significant, measure in determining which side is better/worse performing? And that results from 7 years ago seemingly affect that?

Not having a go. I and many other posters here agree with what you said, but that probably isn’t how the club decision makers should be viewing it. It’s ok for them to think it here and there, but you can’t build a good squad if that’s the thinking long term, which it largely appears to be.

You're missing my point completely. My opinion is that the Orr's had no intention of one of their key clients coming near the club. My question is, did we know this, or were we played off as the Useful Idiots in this instance.
If it is the case, whether we were party to it or not, makes very little difference. Either we did and the benefit is smoothing over relations with Orrs, but to what end? Because all it would do is give us access at market rate to a player. Or if we were ignorant then all it does is makes us seem like potential patsies to Orrs so that they may provide access to a player at market rate.

Not making excuses. I was just agreeing it’s a valid point.
And belmore is a lot close to the inner west, cbd and coast.
