Tackle breaks are the currency of attacking football. The premiers are always one of the top tackle breaking teams every year. The Parramatta Eels haven’t been since Hayne and Radradra were both at the club. Penisini is our best tackle breaker. You can just give him early ball and things happen. It’s a shame he keeps dropping the ball in recent years. Maybe he’s trying too hard.

He was out top tackle breaker in 2024 and 2023, last year JAC, Lomax and Iongi all surpassed him while in 2022 guys like ICE, Gutho, Dyl etc out ranked him.

Granted all these guys don't play the same amount of games etc

Will has a strong carry in him but it's not Staggs, Best, Farnworth strong

With respect mate, if he is our top tackle breaker then that is super depressing. He often gets the “bump” because he’s very strong but unfortunately is prone to very silly plays following.

People can bag Sivo all they like but you can’t say he didn’t deliver in turning half chances into points!

Will doesn’t seem to set players up, he doesn’t prove to be a nightmare to mark up against due his devastating defence etc.

I truly don’t hope we extend as I’d be happy to roll the dice with just about anyone other than him.

It’s the strongest in our club. Given centres don’t make a lot of runs, he has a huge amount of tackle breaks per carry. He’s already got six this year in one game. Massive sample

It is mate. We need more like him, not less.
I understand you post here for vastly different reasons to others, but to clarify, we are all trying to post our opinions on how the team can improve and possibly achieve success.

granted, that is at odds with your happiness, but when posting your mocking “education” posts, you must bear in mind that. It everyone shares your love of mediocrity and passion for failure.

I wonder if penisini would do with a position later down the line. I still think his explosiveness and tackle busting ability is very good and hes only 23 like Sean. Could improve and i wouldnt say hes peaked yet. Just lots of little things to put together to go up another level. Penis couldve really benefited from being outside of JAC the same way Sean has developed.

Bulldogs star Bronson Xerri looking to impress rival clubs in NSW Cup as Canturbury exit seems inevitable
The Bronson Xerri drama continues to bubble along, with an exit from the Bulldogs appearing inevitable, as the star centre looks to impress rival clubs while biding his time in NSW Cup.

Bronson Xerri has started to monitor which NRL clubs may be interested in signing him while continuing to harbour an unwavering desire to leave Canterbury.
Xerri, 25, is chasing a strong performance in Saturday’s NSW Cup game against Canberra to help the Bulldogs – and enhance his ability to find another club.
The Xerri drama continues to bubble with his looming exit from Belmore appearing inevitable.
Despite attempts from Canterbury to ease the situation, it is understood Xerri would consider seeking an immediate release if a club he wanted to represent expressed interest.
Rival clubs are unable to lodge any official offers given Xerri still has two years remaining on his Bulldogs contract.
Xerri does have a preference to remain in Sydney and be close to his support network but would still consider a move interstate if necessary.

The Bulldogs centre has begun quietly looking at possible options for the rest of this season or from next year and is aware that dropping his intensity for Saturday’s NSW Cup game could damage his ability to find another club.
As much as Canterbury wants to support and back Xerri, the club is highly unlikely to reject a release request.
Xerri knows there are clubs interested, but much would depend on location and the financial incentive. Wests Tigers, Perth, Manly, Melbourne and Parramatta have been linked to Xerri. The Dragons are not interested.
