Who knows what Joash potential ceiling is, but so far with his minimal NRL experience, he hasn't been a defensive liability or made many errors.

He is developing ok and seems to have a good attitude! Will get a lot better with more NRL game time. Plus every squad needs utilities like him.

A very simple but succinct observation from me is that, we sign Joash who was discarded by the dogs, yet someone like Apa who clearly has the talent as a non priority, and now several clubs chasing him and Parra once again left holding their pecker
Yet you want us to chase another dogs discard.....

How the f**k would you have no interest in Xerri , either Ryles is a moron or he had a plan, wtf that his who the fk knws, such idiots, will be a rank club forever!!

Apa did score 4 tries in reggies last week but unfortunately he had as many lowlights as he did highlights.
Yeah, he obviously has some talent especially with the ball in hand. My main issue is fans declaring him the risen Hayne after never seeing him play bar last week in a very unique situation and then climbing into the club for not locking him into a long-term deal. Remember Haze Dunster anyone?

Haze was on track until his injuries ruined his career poor guy..

Though I agree Apa probably doesn't fit into our side when at full strength.
If it wasn't for the AC Injury he probably plays a few more weeks in the NRL to show his ability

watching what clubs do is a good indication of what a players potential is......of course there are exceptions (like Smith)....but Api is 22 this year and not one NRL club was willing to offering him an NRL contract (or development) for this year.

All for reasons Ryles mentioned, there are issues with his game.

I think Apa has more what you call a bit of X-Factor about him.

He has that quick feet & movement about him.

Like a lot of those players it generally comes at a cost where there defence is very flaky and a weakness. And i suppose the debate will be does the spark and skill he brings is enough to make up for the shortcomings.

Development of talent from juniors to NRL level is our biggest issue.

If Twidle has 3 clubs circling already what does that tell you. He has ability.

Yet we continue to sign players like Joash - whilst better than the likes of Zac Cini et al, he is too small and not fast enough to make it as an NRL player.

I agree we don't know what Twidle's best position is (just like Blaize Talagi) but this is because we keep shuffling players around in the junior grades.

That's right. But poor defence is so what we don't need right now. As @JokerEel said it's a shame we didn't get a bigger look at him on the wing this year.
